I'm going to take my driver's test to get my permit i was wondering how the test would be?
I just took my permit test Monday. I took it in North Carolina and it was a simple multiple choice test. They ask a question, on a computer, and you choose which of the 3 is the correct answer. In NC you must get no more than 5 wrong with a 20 question test.
I thought it was EXTREMELY easy and only missed 1 question, that only because my driver's ed teacher told me wrong.
Reply:IT is multiple choice Mine hade 30 questions and if you read the manual, it's pretty much a piece of cake. If you have a choice, take the computer testAnd I'm pretty sure you can't miss more than 4 questions.
Reply:The first test you take will be on the computer,if you fail, the next time you can choose a written test or computer again.I'm pretty sure there are 30 questions and you can't get more than 7 wrong or you fail.You choose from selected answers(a,b,c,d).

What does it mean if you have a blood test which shows elevated C-RP levels but normal ESR?
My mum was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis several years ago but has recently had normal ESR levels so they are rethinking the diagnosis and trying to pawn her off with a Fibromyalgia diagnosis which typically doesn't cause inflammation (which she suffers from several times a month). This past week her hands were swollen so they drew blood again DURING a swelling episode and it revealed a normal ESR but elevated C-RP. Her GP says she has never seen this before and searching the net has proved fruitless for me. Mum has to wait several months to see a specialist (UK health system) but in the meantime I'd like to see if we can get some clarification on how this can be. It seems strange to me that both are inflammation markers, but only one is elevated when she is inflamed! Anybody have any insights?

Regular exercise like walking, biking and swimming is also helpful for most patients. Make sure that you are not overweight as carrying too much weight can only increase the pain of arthritis in the supporting joints of the hips, knees, ankles and feet.
For any form of arthritis, you should consult an orthopaedist who will order blood tests, joint scans and X-Rays to better diagnose the type of arthritis from which you suffer.

FMS is not a rheumatological condition-a long time ago it was thoguht that it was musculoskeletal-but for teh past 10 years it has been believed to be from a disorder of the Central Nervosu System...

Sounds to me like the may be an earth lead left of the back of the manifold. Try using a jump lead to earth the engine to the body. Also check you have put all the wiring back on the starter (should be 3 wires from memory)

according to a bloodtest result i have high levels of c reactive protein in blood. I have what is like a inflammation in my face ie like an infection but my doctor says its fibomyalgia.What causes me to feel so ill and have throbbing pains in my head and feel like its on fire.I initially thought it was sinusitis.Also my neck clicks and makes noises like meat tearing when I rotate it but again gp says its Fibroidmyalgia-but im wondering about rheumatoid athritis any suggestions? thanks

I looked this up in my Diagnotics book for nurses and this is what I found.
C- reactive protein or CRP is an abnormal specific glycoprotein ( consists of carbohydrates %26amp; proteins)produced by the liver and excreted into blood.
Purpose of this test -
To detect the acute phase of inflammatory disease, such as exacerbations of rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatic fever.
And to monitor response to therapy, especially in acute rheumatic fever and rheumatoid arthritis.
The presence of CRP in serum indicates an acute inflammatory condition (tissue reaction to injury resulting from infectious or noninfectious causes).
A positive test for CRP commonly occurs in bacterial infections, such as TB and pneumococcal pneumonia, and in many noninfectious inflammatory conditions, like acute rheumatic fever, acute rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, malignancy, and myocardial infarction (condition caused by acclusion of one or more of the coronary arteries)
Postive CRP occurs during the last half of pregnancy and also accompanies the use of oral contraceptives, making detection of concomitant ( accessory; taking the place at the same time) inflammation difficult.

It could also be lupus, but there is no definitive lab test for lupus. Does your facial inflammation look sort of like a butterfly across your nose and cheeks? That would be the characteristic butterfly rash of lupus. Do you feel worse when you are in the sun?
Autoimmune diseases are tricky and often come in groups. Make an appointment with a rheumatologist.
Reply:Rheumatoid arthritis is considered only if you have multiple joint inflammation and pain especially joints of fingers and wrists. The tests for RA are ANA and Rhematoid Factor.
Headaches r not common in RA. The neck pain u described could be Cervical Spondylosis. Did u get an MRI? Fibromyalgia cant be ruled out with what you descibed above. Do u have any other symptoms?

we have been shown a van that is a cat c accident case. The seller says cat d is a total right off. Is it safe to buy cat c and after repair and new test, can the label cat c be removed so it becomes like any other van?

2) What your grades were prior. Yes, we know you have a C+, but if that was only 100 points so far, then the test will affect your grade a lot more than if it was, say, 1000 points you had built up so far.
3) What kind of F it was. Was it a 59% F or a 5.9% F?

I have to get a blood test tommorrow but?
my doctor told me not to eat anything or drink anything except water after 12am. my question is wouldn't that make me really weak if i got a blood test and skipped breakfast and shouldnt you eat something? im kind of really scared because i hate needles and getting blood tests, i usually throw up b/c im so nervous and don't stay calm enough. i can't watch people take blood out of my arm without feeling lightheaded. i passed out once and i usually almost cry. and im 16! my other question is how do i get over this fear? im nervous about it right now and i dont know what to do b/c my doctor says if im not scared then i shouldnt throw up. i dont know what to do to not be scared though =( can someone help?

If your doctor told you not to eat then you shouldn't, its so that what you eat doesn't mess up your test results. drink LOTS of water, i made a huge mistake my not drinking enough and they had to stick me with the needle 4 TIMES because they could not get any blood out!!!!! yeah i have a hard time getting my blood taken, i scream and cry and every thing and I'm 14 LOL. but my mom found this really good numbing cream it REALLY helps with the pain, it's called emla, my mom got it on E-bay for like 20$.but it was SO worth it! after i put that cream on i could not feel the needle AT ALL!!! but tell your doctor to use a butterfly needle, they are really small, and don't hurt as much ;-). well i hope it all goes well for you! and drink LOTS OF WATER, lol trust me it really helps!!!!!
Reply:I don't think anyone likes needles, but it's one of those necessary evils. You won't be all that weak if you don't eat breakfast, you can eat as soon as you leave the doctor. And if you haven't eaten anything, then there won't be anything to throw up. I would highly suggest that you drink alot of water the day before. It makes it easier for them to get blood from you. Trust me on this, been there many times. This is so true!! Drink lotz of water. It makes it easier on you too. The thing is, it only takes a few minutes. Don't watch them, in fact ask them if you can lay down while they do it.

An ealry results home test (such as First Response) might be able to give a positive up to 5 days before your period is due (so if you have a 28 day cycle that would mean in a day or so for you) However, it is common to get a false-negative (you're pregnant but the test shows up negative) when you test this early, that's why it's recommended to wait until your period is due. A blood test is slightly more accurate and would have a better chance of detecting the hcg so soon (as soon as 10 days after conception). Using first morning urine helps if you test at home (more hcg in it). Hope this helps!

Reply:You can get a really sensitive HPT test, and try testing a few days before your missed period or you can just wait until your missed period to test. Of course a blood test will be the best results. If you still want to do an HPT before going to the doctor your best bet is to wait until you miss your period. Your pregnancy hormone will be strongest after the missed period, and easy to detect, you may want to do the test first thing when you wake up, food and other beverages can alter results later in the day, where as the first morning's urine has the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone. Of course a blood test will be the best results. If you still want to do an HPT before going to the doctor your best bet is to wait until you miss your period. i have been feeling sick and throwing up the last few days, have been very tired and had killer headaches
took a hpt and a got a very light positive
I had a d%26amp;c 4 weeks ago though I was 6wk

My sister had the same situation and was not pregnant - it can take awhile for the hormones to get out of your system.
Reply:It is possible your pregnant as you are at your most fertile after a miscarriage. ( not sure if this is the same as after an abortion though,but I suppose it must be )
I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and was told as it was early the pregnancy hormone should be gone within a week or two.
I think the only definate way you can tell whether your pregnant or not is through a blood test.
Reply:did you have a follow up appointment with a confirmed negative pregnancy test that also confirmed that the procedure was successful? If not I would suggest going to a doctor... If you did have a confirmed negative pregnancy test at your follow up appointment then yes this would be a new pregnancy.
If you had a follow up appointment and they determined that the procedure was successful but you did not show negative on the pregnancy test yet than it could go either way. Basically in any case I would suggest seeking medical attention..
Also if you did not have a follow up appointment and you have those symptoms and a fever, screw the doctor and go straight to the ER...

My hcg levels dropped fast after a miscarriage and I got pregnant 4 weeks after with my daughter. because of your last miscarriage your levels prob weren't that high because of the unhealthy pregnancy so they prob never had the chance to get that high to linger for four weeks. I heard that after you have a full term baby you might have the hormones for up to three weeks and you didn't get that far so this could be a new pregnancy it happened for me

Reply:hi i know how you feel i had a miscarriage and had to have a /dc on the 12/3 i am now testing positive to a new pregnancy just under 5 weeks after i phoned and spoke to my doctor who said it was defo a new pregnancy as the hormons take approx 3-4 weeks to come out of your body i also tested very faint where you could only just bout see the line but a gave it a few more days tested again and it was a bit stronger then i gave it a few more days and it is now a strong positive. im going for a scan the 29th to check all is ok as of what ive just been through they are going to keep a extra eye on me. i hope all is good for you and my advise would be test again in bout three days and see what happens. lots of luck x

Vitamin C deficiency can lead to a disease called scurvy, which is characterized by abnormalities in the bones and teeth. Many fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C, but cooking destroys the vitamin, so raw citrus fruits and their juices are the main source of ascorbic acid for most people.
One way to determine the amount of vitamin C in food is to use a redox titration. The redox reaction is better than an acid-base titration since there are additional acids in a juice, but few of them interfere with the oxidation of ascorbic acid by iodine.
Iodine is relatively insoluble, but this can be improved by complexing the iodine with iodide to form triiodide:
I2 + I- %26lt;--%26gt; I3-
Triiodide oxidizes vitamin C to form dehydroascorbic acid:
C6H8O6 + I3- + H2O --%26gt; C6H6O6 + 3I- + 2H+
As long as vitamin C is present in the solution, the triiodide is converted to the iodide ion very quickly.
Howevever, when the all the vitamin C is oxidized, iodine and triiodide will be present, which react with starch to form a blue-black complex. The blue-black color is the endpoint of the titration.
This titration procedure is appropriate for testing the amount of vitamin C in vitamin C tablets, juices, and fresh, frozen, or packaged fruits and vegetables. The titration can be performed using just iodine solution and not iodate, but the iodate solution is more stable and gives a more accurate result..

I'm running a thermal test on an in-ceiling, insulated-ceiling recessed lighting fixture. After it reaches equilibrium, the temperatures on the unit stay constant at 112 degrees C. The ambient temperature is 27 degrees C. If the ambient temperature was 2 degrees less - 25 degrees C - would the temperatures on the lighting fixture also be 2 degrees less - 110 degrees C??

Hi, i am male 25 weigh 76 kgs and height is 173 cms. I had my LFT done and ALT is 72. Hep B and C tests -ve?
Last month i did LFT tests and ALt was 62. This month it has raised to 72. Triglycerides and Cholesterol are higher than normal range and good cholesterol is low. I have been very stressed after the first result and the new test was done without fasting. I had not had any water that day before the test. Hep B and Hep C tests came back negative. However these tests were done on the same blood sample sent about 12 days ago. Would this alter the result? Doctor reckons it is Fatty Liver

I can't answer your question, but I can empathize with you greatly. In November of 2001, I also lost a baby at 4 months gestation. It had died inside due to cord problems and they had to do a D and C. My insurance wouldn't cover anesthesia and I could not afford it, so I went without. It feels just like labor, except at the end all you have is post natal drainage, pain, and heartache. I don't know how it went for you, but that memory still haunts me today. I look at my two children now and think "there should be three". It's a horrible thing to go through. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I think everything goes back to normal differently for every woman. It's just as if you have had a baby, with the placenta taken out and everything. I would say to give it 6 months. And don't cry so much. It's in God's hands. Think of it this way--the baby was taken by God and sent straight to heaven becuase it was sin free. It was an innocent soul, and it never had a chance to do anything bad. That's how I personally look at it. No judgment day for it, it's automatically in.

Depending on what your son's doctor thinks may be causing the lymph nodes to swell, liver/kidney function tests may also be done.

Well I don't live in S.C. I live in KY. But I went to the child support office to establish paternity. If you do it that way the state pays for most of it then if the guy is the father he has to pay the rest, but if he's not the father you have to pay the rest. Buy a test at a drug store, if it comes back positive make an appointment at an OB/GYN. Most of their patients they haven't seen before they got pregnant. You can call the hospital or local health unit to find out who is accepting new patients.
Also there is a website that you can visit that lists the doctors in your area.
I think it is called ratemd.com or something like that. People visit it and rate their doctor. That way you can find out who is good in your area.

Buy a test at a drug store, if it comes back positive make an appointment at an OB/GYN. Most of their patients they haven't seen before they got pregnant. You can call the hospital or local health unit to find out who is accepting new patients.
Also there is a website that you can visit that lists the doctors in your area.
I think it is called ratemd.com or something like that. People visit it and rate their doctor. That way you can find out who is good in your area.
Reply:go to the local health department they will give you a test...if you do not have insurance go to the local DHS office and apply for medicaid...they can tell you the doctors that accept it in your area...or call around...I would take a few at HPT's before going to the doctor because if you tell them you have taken some home tests and they are positive the more likely they will be to see you.

Reply:I would just run to the corner store and grab and EPT, if it is positive, call a doctor in your area and set up an appointment and let them know you are a new patient who just found out they were pregnant.

Vitamin C is ascorbic acid, so u could check for the acidity (Ph) using in terms of Universal Indicator, etc. That will give you some clue about whether an acid is there, but it depends whether there are any other acids present.

I had a D&C three weeks ago, and now I have a POS preg test? Please help me?
Im 24 and have had two miscarriages.. Most recently I had a D and C three weeks ago.. eight weeks in to my second pregnancy.. I woke up feeling sick, and I have been taking birth control but I thought Id take a preg test anyways, knowing it would come up negative but instead it came up positive. I didnt think I could get pregnant this soon... Is this even possible?

It is possible that you are pregnant. But if you are taking birth control, sometimes the pill will cause you to test positive. Go to your Dr. and get a blood test. If you have been pregnant before then you know how sore your breasts get. Are they sore? Try to get in tune with your body and in the mean time, stop taking the pill. Best of luck! Reply:When you misscarry it takes up to 8 weeks for the pregnancy hormone HCG to dissappear from your system. As home pregnancy tests test for HCG in your urine its most likely just 'leftover' HCG from your misscarriage. Im so sorry about your loss :( Ive been there and I know how you feel.

ok hears the situation,I went to the DR today because i just don't feel well, sounds stupid i know, but generally i feel not quite right and I had noticed a change in the type of headaches i was having over the last few months and a few funny symptoms that come and go, like my nose has bled when i was in the shower a few times, sometimes i get dizzy and my vision blurs for a few seconds when i bend over.
dr has ordered a heap of tests to be done on my blood. On the referal sheet it says tests requested:
cholesterol- HDL/LDL, C reactive protein, ESR, FBC (full blood count) Iron studies, thyroid function tests, Glucose (serum), E/LFT, electrolytes/liver function tests.
are these normal tests to do? what would she be thinking?
she took my temp, looked in my ears and in my ears, she got me to follow her finger with my eyes without moving my head and she spend ages listening to my chest front and back. But she didn't SAY ANYTHING, whats the deal? should i be worried?
What do these types of test means? can the results be altered by?
These are routine tests to see what maybe going on. You have to fast for the glucose test to see what you blood sugar is without eating - this is for diabetes.

She is only looking to rule out lots of things. NO, do not be worried. Those are all parts of a normal exam. For instance, if you could not follow her finger, there probably would be something wrong in the brain. Docs work by ruling out the basics, and then digging deeper.
She was listening to your chest for both the heart beat, and the lungs and ability to move air.
Get the tests, and let the doctor see if she can figure out what happened.

I have some scarring from a d&c in Jan,I go for a test Fri. can anything be done for scarring on uteran walls?
I'm not sure, but I do know that with each pregnancy that goes to term, the spot where the placenta has been attached in the uterus, ends up with scar tissue because the placenta and the uterus grow together and then when they separate it is like a wound and it bleeds. Unless your Doctor says it is a problem you should be fine, the uterus has to put up with a lot of things, it is a very adaptable organ.
