How soon can you tell if you are pregnant without using a pregnancy test?

I have had one other child and his delivery was by C-section. How soon can I tell if I am pregnant again without a pregnancy test? My other child is 15 months old. Is it too soon?

How soon can you tell if you are pregnant without using a pregnancy test?
Without using a test would be a missed period but then again some women bleed early on in pregnancy.

You can buy a pregnancy test at the dollar store for a dollar and Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

Yes, you can be pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, it is less likely but still possible. Is your period late? Are your breasts sore, or has there been a reduction in your vaginal mucous production? Are you tired, nauseous, irritable or showing weight gain? All of these are signs that you could be pg again.

Why don't you take a test and find out for sure? We found out on Sunday that I am pregnant... and my son is only 6-1/2 months. So there you are!

Cheers,

Samlet
Reply:It is not too soon to be pregnant. A home pregnancy test or a test in your doctor's office is necessary to confirm a pregnancy.
Reply:How else will you be able to tell? You will have to take a HPT or blood test to be sure that you are pregnant. Have you missed your period? If yes.. take a hpt. If you haven't and you think it has been 10 days past conception.. then get a blood test. Good luck.
