12v m/c head light,how can i test it on a meater?

What do you want to test?

Test if it works?

--With a muliti-meter on Rx (ohms), touch one lead to the metal body of the bulb (ground).

--Touch the other lead to the terminal of the bulb.

--The needle on the meter (or #s if it's digital) should move, indicating that the bulb is in working condition.

OR

--Using a 12v battery and jumper wires, one battery terminal to the metal body of the bulb.

--The other battery terminal to the terminal of the bulb.

--The bulb should light if it's good.

Test the "candle power" output?

You'll need a special meter for that. It's not worth spending money for one.

A simple continuity test will tell you if it's O.K.
Reply:You need to provide 12V to the headlight to test it.
Reply:Why ask such vague questions? what do you mean by testing it?do you want to test if it works, do you want to test the output or the resistance or the amps? give us something to go on here, and you might just get the right answer to your query.
