I have failed in c language in my class test in nit kkr what to do?
See if you can change to some other credit from "C"... "C" is not easy. I flunked too... and twice. It's a stupid language and there are much better things in IT. Try Java.... I flunked that too though
Reply:Its not the end of the world. Prepare well %26amp; appear again, learn from your mistakes. That is what life is all about :-)
Reply:Remember that failure is a stepping stone to success.

Review your performance and find out what went wrong for you. Frankly speaking, C is one of the best languages and it is still is having great significance and application.

If you really find it hard to master this language try some of the following.

1) The major reason for finding any programming language difficult is that the person is not very sure about the syntax of the language. Try learning the syntax.

2) Collecting more information about what you are using may help you. eg:- the printf you use is actually a function defined (written) in the standard library (or file) ( stdio.h I think). You are requesting to add that file (# include%26lt;stdio.h%26gt; ) in the beginning so that you can use the functions defined in it. Another such thing is the main function which is a special type of function ( The one where the execution starts.)

3) Listen to those who know the soul of the language. They may be your teachers or good authors or some one else.

4) LOVE IS THE STRONGEST WEAPON. So simply try loving your C language. Your love will not be left unnoticed!

5) Finally but most importantly, write your own programs. This is the most important one. All the above ones are simply to enable you do this.

6) Check your programs for errors preferably using a computer. Once you debug a couple of programs you will become an expert in programming.

Have a nice day!

Yours lovingly,

What is the difference between hepatitis c and hepatitis b?

What is the difference between hepatitis c and hepatitis b? And also can it be possible to have a false positive on a Hepatitis B test? My friend tested negative 4 months ago for it, but now she got a test again and it came back positive this time, but nothing has changed in her life. Same sex partner, no cheating, no drug use or anything. So she went back today to get another re-test, thinking that the positive test was a mistake. We won't find out the answers for a few days though. But basically the reason why she gets tested so often for this type of stuff is because she is trying to get pregnant with invitro, and they must test for all of these diseases before they will inseminate you with the fertilized egg.

Anyway, if she does really have Hepatitis B, why isn't she sick? And will she eventually get sick? And also, how long does it take to show up on a blood test before you do test positive for Hepatitis B, I mean can she have caught it a year ago, but it just now showed up?

What is the difference between hepatitis c and hepatitis b?
The main difference is that they are caused by different viruses.
Reply:The difference is hep b is a DNA virus and hep C is a RNA virus. Aside from that overly simple answer, the other differences are that most people (80% or so) exposed to the hep B virus clear it on their own, through their own body's immune response system. With hep C, only about 15-20% of those exposed to it clear it through their own immune system; the rest go on to have chronic, active hepatitis c which causes damage (scarring) to the liver. The damage can progress to cirrhosis (15-20%)or liver cancer in about 5% of people with hep c.

The other major difference is that hep B can progress directly to liver cancer (without progressing to cirrhosis first, as hep c does).

It is very possible to have no symptoms; that is why both hep b and hep c are so dangerous. People can have it for years or decades and not know it, all the while the alcohol you drink or the medicines you take can make the scarring on the liver (called fibrosis) worse.

It is possible she was originally tested during the period of time when the virus could not be detected, or it could be a false positive. There are other tests our health dept. does to determine if the positive is from a vaccine, or from exposure. Read about the other tests at the link below. Best wishes.
Reply:Hepatitis B is caused by a hepadnavirus

Hepatitis C (originally "non-A non-B hepatitis") is caused by a Flavivirus
Reply:HAV is found in the feces of people with hepatitis A and is usually spread by close personal contact (including sex or sharing a household). It can also be spread by eating food

HBV is found in blood and certain body fluids. The virus is spread when blood or body fluid from an infected person enters the body of a person who is not immune. HBV is spread through having unprotected sex with an infected person, sharing needles or works when shooting drugs, exposure to needlesticks or sharps on the job, or from an infected mother to her baby during birth. Exposure to infected blood in ANY situation can be a risk for transmission

HCV is found in blood and certain body fluids. The virus is spread when blood or body fluid from an HCV-infected person enters another person’s body. HCV is spread through sharing needles or “works” when shooting drugs, through exposure to needlesticks or sharps on the job, or sometimes from an infected mother to her baby during birth. It is possible to transmit HCV during sex, but it is not common.
Reply:The onset of hepatitis B is often gradual, incubation period is 30 to 180 days. Its transmission route is through a break in the skin or lining membranes; sexually; from trasfusion of blood products; from mother to baby. The severity is often considerable, %26amp; the outlook, 10% risk chronic liver disease. The risk of becoming a carrier is up to 30%.

With hepatitis C, the onset is gradual, %26amp; the incubation period is 5 to 160 days. The transmission route is from transfusion of blood products; From entry of infected blood through a surface break. The severity is moderate, %26amp; the outlook, up to 25% risk chronic liver disease. the risk of becoming a carrier is at least 80%.

The symptoms range from mild to very severe. Mild hepatitis may not cause any noticeable symptoms, just an off-colour feeling for a few days. Severe hepatitis causes a very serious disturbance of healyh, %26amp; can occasionally be fatal.

The onset of symptoms may be abrupt or gradual; fever %26amp; malaise may be felt for a few days before the onset of Jaundice, which is the most obvious sign that the liver is not working properly. Jaundice caused by hepatitis is most noticeable in the skin %26amp; whites of the eyes, %26amp; makes urine dark orange or red %26amp; the faeces pale. Jaundice may take several days to develope its deepest colour. If the liver is inflamed enough to cause jaundice, many of its other important functions will also be disturbed, triggering other symptoms, including loss of appetite %26amp; energy, biliousness, fever, headache, aching muscles %26amp; general malaise. There may be pain in the upper abdomen, going through to the back.

Most adults infected by a hepatitis virus overcome the infection by developing antibodies against it. Once the antibodies are doing their work, jaundice begins to fade, usually taking 1 to 2 weeks to disappear. Other symptoms of disturbed liver funtion may subside more slowly; it may be weeks or even months before the patient feels well again. In general, the more severe the attack, the longer it takes to get recover. After complete recovery , the patient has immunity against future infection.

Blood tests demonstrate disturbed liver function %26amp; can identify the causative virus %26amp; the stage of infection.

There is no specific treatment for acute viral hepatitis, but the antiviral drug interferon has been shown to reduce multiplication of the virus %26amp; help the body fight it. Rest is advised until liver function returns to normal %26amp; the patient feels well again. Anything that might put extra strain on the liver, such as alcohol %26amp; certain drugs, %26amp; fatty foods, which need bile to be digested, should be avoided. Hospital treatment for hepatitis is only necessary if vmiting or other symptoms are so severe that the patient must be fed intravenously, or if other complications of the disorder develope.

Okay im confused!. i bought a pregnancy test it has a "c" and "t" there was onle a red line by the c am i preg

Check the box it should tell you what each letter means.

Okay im confused!. i bought a pregnancy test it has a "c" and "t" there was onle a red line by the c am i preg
The only thing I can think of is that the T means test window. The C may mean control window. The line in both the C and T is what I think you need to look for to be pregnant. Go to PeeonaStick.com to look at other pictures of tests like that.
Reply:mine had a c and t but negative was only one line and positive was a line under each. read the directions if something is still screwy go buy a new test. good luck
Reply:C is the control line... that shows the test worked... if there isn't a line next to the T, then you aren't... or don't have enough HCG to pick it up
Reply:No you need to have two lines to be pregnant. But if your really unsure take another one, more easily readable.
Reply:the c line is the control line and it shows up to verify that the test is working. If there was nothing under the t line then it showed a negative result.
Reply:I've never seen a test like that. What do the directions say?
Reply:you probably shouldn't buy a prego test at the 99¢ store!
Reply:Most of the pregnancy tests today say you are pregnant if there are 2 lines one in each spot. The box with the instructions will tell you more in regards to what says yes and what says no. But also keep in mind that there is a possibility that you are double check with your doctor if your period has done a no show for the second month. I was pregnant with my son and the test came up negative in the beginning but by the time I was 12 wks it came up positive.
Reply:C means "control" haha!! it means the test has worked...it you are preg there will two lines
Reply:Read the directions included with your test. And call the customer service help line if you still don't understand.
Reply:yes
Reply:one line is to tell you the test has worked correctly
Reply:read the back of the box or the little paper inside!! i dont know what kind of test you go and i cant tell either!! lol
Reply:Read the instructions!
Reply:C is the control line, meaning that you will get a red line to show that the test has worked. T is where you would get a line if you were pregnant. So that sounds like a negative test.
Reply:THE C = CONTROL LINE

THE T= TEST LINE

the control line will come out to let you know the test is working if there is no line in the t area its a neg test..

make sure you drop at least 3 drops of urine in there and wait a few minutes.

if in a few days you still think you may be pregnant take another test
Reply:Generally, c means control and t means test. Definitely read the box.
Reply:R E A D T H E B O X !
Reply:no there has to be 2 lines there to be pregnant
Reply:the "c" is the control line the "t" is for the results. If the only line you got is next to the "c" you're not pregnant.
Reply:http://www.buypregnancytests.com/pregnan...

The C means control

T means Test

Only one line in the C area ..NO you are not pregnant..

Check out the link for yourself
Reply:I haev seen a test like this. I believe the c is the control line and the t is the test line. If I remmeber correctly then you are not pregnant.
Reply:no, c stands for control - if the test itself is working correctly

t stands for test - it's actual result of the test

u r not pregnant
Reply:get a different test
Reply:I agree with everyone else, read the box. Normally pregnancy tests have two windows, and normally its two lines that mean you are pregnant. One of the lines is a control window which verifies the test was done properly, the other is the window that shows a positive result. I can't say for certain, but re-test with a test that is easier to read or go to the doctor and have them do it for you. I personally have done about 4 different types of tests, and in my situation all tests I did required two lines for a positive "pregnant" result. Good luck :)
Reply:I have used that brand .. its Negative U need 2 lines 4 it to be positive ... Are u testing early?? ifso try another brand those ones are not the best!
Reply:just read the instructions and they should tell you exactly what all the letters and lines means.the easiest tests are the ones that say pregnant or not pregnant because you dont have no guessing because it tells you straight forward
Reply:....how about you read the directions?

Every test is different and i have no way of telling without seeing the directions.

If it wasnt an option in the directions, it may have been inconclusive..so try again.
Reply:i have never seen a test like that...read the instructions

I showed reactive to hepatitis C.I still have to confirm with a PCR test.Is there a chance of a false positive

Here are my results Total bilirubin 2.2, Total protein 7.6, Albumin 4.8, Alkaline Phospatase 65, ALT# 40, AST 34, Direct Bilirubin 0.3 all of my enzymes are okay does this bold well for treatment if needed?

I showed reactive to hepatitis C.I still have to confirm with a PCR test.Is there a chance of a false positive
with hep c you can only tell so much by the enzymes. the best way is to do a liver biopsy to see how much tissue (if any) has already been affected. levels can stay normal for years then skyrocket suddenly. see a liver specialist. interfuron (sp?) treatments have had wonderful results with most patients, clearing the virus completely from up to 60% of patients. but then again it depends on the genome type of the hep c as to how well it will respond to treatment. i have hep c and my enzyme levels are normal so i have decided not to seek treatment at this time. its also possible that your body will clear the virus itself without treatment. just stay away from alcohol and medication that can be harmful to your liver.

go see an internal medicine doctor or a liver specialist and they will do more blood tests to narrow it down to the genotype of your hep c. then they will do a biopsy and will be able to tell you if they think treatment will help you and what kind of treatment is best. there are dozens of types and some dont respond to treatment at all. its best to get a professional opinion/diagnosis on this issue.

false positives happen less than 1% of the time. if you are still unsure see a specialist and have your bloodwork redone.
Reply:There is always a hope that it will be. But if not, you have a good chance to get better. Modern medicine has improved since I got mine and I have done well since then.
Reply:I have not heard that.
Reply:dont know

Can you test for hep c in?

6 weeks after exposure or around a month is it possible

Can you test for hep c in?
I believe you can be tested even sooner than that and then a follow up three months after the first test!

Good Luck!
Reply:Yes, you will need to get tested more than once to make sure you don't have it. It can take awhile to build anti bodies in the blood and that is what the test is looking for. Hope this helps.

How different is an M2 license from a Class C license as far as obtaining them is concerned?

I have already studied for a regular license but I want an M2 license for a moped. I know that I have to take a safety class to get that kind of license but do I have to take a written test and then training just like a Class C license? I'm not sure exactly what I have to do...

How different is an M2 license from a Class C license as far as obtaining them is concerned?
an M2 restricts you to small CCs (scooters , mopeds, ect.)

an M1 lets you operate any two wheeled motorcycle. the written test is the same, its the ride test that desides. do yourself a favor and take an MSF coarse, apon sucessful compleation of the course you'll receive a certificate take it to the DMV and you got your M1.

Do different types of orange juice have vitamin C?

Im doing a science fair project and im wondering how to test the amount of vitamin C???????

Do different types of orange juice have vitamin C?
I have no clue how to go about testing it but I know all oj had vitamin C
Reply:i dont know how you would test it besides looking at the nutrition lable ...i know some juices have xtra vitamin c added to them
Reply:They all have vitamin C, although the vitamin C is destroyed at high pressure or temperature. Sometimes juice manufacturers pasteurize the juice at high temperature, so some of the vitamin C is destroyed. They sometimes add it back in.
Reply:First, you read the lablels and find out how much real orange juice is in there. Some have 10% real juice, others have higher amounts. Obviously, the amount of vitamin C will vary based on this factor too, I would think.

You need to find out also what the FDA standards are concerning what percent of real juice / Vitamin C is required..or similiar stuff along this train of thought.
Reply:I am sure that if grown in different areas of the world, different times of there year, and different types of fertilizer and other growing methods the natural amount might alter slightly from orange to orange but nto a signifcant amount. However, this is not something that I have actually looked into nor remember hearing about such a study being done.

I do know that some brands add extra vitamin C to their OJ along with other nutrients. However, I can tell you that the amount of vitamin C in your OJ falls drastically once the package is open. Check out these numbers.

The day you open your OJ it will have the most amount of vitamin C. The next day it will have only 50% of the vitamin C it had when you opened it. Day three it will have only 25% of the vitamin C it had when you opened it. Day four it will have under 10% of the vitamin C. So basically unless you are drinking it for taste alone you need to drink it within a day of opening it or you are wasting it. If you can't consume an entire container in a day then get smaller containers.

So my advice is just let it out to a close friend or if you don't want to, someone told me about this song called 'Perfect' by Simple Plan - just listen to the lyrics (search it on youtube.com) and when i heard it, the lyrics just decribed my life and i broke down crying - it was another way of letting all the stress out and that particular song helped me out soooooo much. So i'd reccomend just listening to it and i'm really sorry that your parents are like mine as well but i'm sure things will get better. Just hang in there.

I had 4 loritabs left from the month before to be taken as needed for pain, they sent my test off to c.?

Im trying to get pregnate and been weining myself off all medications only taking them when im really hurting.I dont c that she can violate me for taking what is perscribed to me.The only problem i can c is that instead having taken to many that i didnt take enough (through there eyes ofcourse) there are people that dont abuse medications out here and then theres idiots that make people like me have to live in fear for taking there own medication.Do you think that she will violate me and what will they do will they take me right then or give me time to make arrangments for my kids?

I had 4 loritabs left from the month before to be taken as needed for pain, they sent my test off to c.?
If your prescription says it is to be taken "as needed" then a P.O. cannot say you have not been taking "enough". The doctors determine how much and when and how often. Just have your prescription or get a copy of your medical records. I think you'll be fine.

I am doing a test run for a C++ program. Can someone figure this out?

Suppose you deposit $1 into an acount this month, $2 into the account the second month, $4 the third month and so on, doubling your deposit each month. Write a program that displays the first month that your deposit exceeds %26amp;1,000,000.

I am doing a test run for a C++ program. Can someone figure this out?
This sounds like an excellent application for a "while" loop. The while loop checks a condition, and as long as that condition is true, it will execute a chunk of code.

So, let's have a variable, let's call it deposit. Since we're expecting a rather large number, let's make it a long integer.

long int deposit = 1;

Let's also have an integer to keep track of how many months it takes to reach our goal.

int month = 1;

Now let's make a loop.

while (deposit %26lt;= 1000000)

{

deposit += deposit; //double deposit's current value

month++; //Add another month

}

cout %26lt;%26lt; "In month number " %26lt;%26lt; month %26lt;%26lt; "we deposited in excess of one million dollars!" %26lt;%26lt; endl;

That code should do it for you.
Reply:Nothing like using the ellegance of recursion to impress your pears:

int deposit = 1;

int month = getMonth(1,1);

int getMonth(int month,int deposit){

if (deposit %26lt;= 1000000){

deposit += deposit;

month++;

return getMonth(month,deposit);

}

return month;

}

a bit less maintainable though....

What causes Hepatitis C? Please give serious answers.. I've had many blood test ran, for many years.. Never

has that showed up in my tests. I went to the Doctor last Friday, I had a liver blood test done, because my liver has been hurting.. Today my Doctor called me and informed me, i have Hepatitis C.. What do i expect. I have not had sex in 10 years.. Not used intervienous drugs since 1967. I'm 60. Please help. Explain to me what will happen next. I must go to my Doctor again on Tuesday. Could I have liver cancer or cirrhosis instead? Or is the Blood test accurate?

What causes Hepatitis C? Please give serious answers.. I've had many blood test ran, for many years.. Never
Your 'liver blood test' is called a liver panel.

You only need to inject ONE time to contract HCV...1967? yes that could be it..

Hepatitis C is a 3-5% transmission sexually so unless you are into very rough sex that is not likely.

The blood transfusion was after 1992 so that is an unlikely way to get it BUT the blood could have been infected..not likely though.

Could you have liver cancer or cirrhosis instead? I sure hope not. The blood tests only shows that you have HCV it doesn't tell you if you have cancer or cirrhosis.

Cancer is detected with an ultrasound and cirrhosis is detected with a biopsy.

Good luck with your upcoming lab tests.

They should suggest a biopsy,

genotype,

Viral Load to determine IF you need treatment (that would be the biopsy)

Geotype tells you how long the treatment would be.

Genotypes 1a,1b are 48 weeks

Genotypes 2 and 3 are easier to treat and only require 48 weeks of treatment.

The viral load will tell you how much of the virus you are carrring.

No one test tells it all..you need all of them along with your liver panel tests for the doctor to make a correct evaluation.
Reply:Hepatitis C is a blood-borne infectious disease that is caused by Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infecting the liver. The infection can cause liver inflammation (hepatitis) that is often asymptomatic, but ensuing chronic hepatitis can result later in cirrhosis (fibrotic scarring of the liver) and liver cancer.

The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. No vaccine against hepatitis C is available. The symptoms of infection can be medically managed, and a proportion of patients can be cleared of the virus by a long course of anti-viral medicines. Although early medical intervention is helpful, people with HCV infection often experience mild symptoms, and consequently do not seek treatment. An estimated 150-200 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis C.

The hepatitis C virus is one of six known hepatitis viruses: A, B, C, D, E, G.

Acute Hepatitis C

Acute hepatitis C refers to the first 6 months after infection with HCV. Between 60% to 70% of people infected develop no symptoms during the acute phase. In the minority of patients who experience acute phase symptoms, they are generally mild and nonspecific, and rarely lead to a specific diagnosis of hepatitis C. Symptoms of acute hepatitis C infection include decreased appetite, fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice, itching, and flu-like symptoms.

The hepatitis C virus is usually detectable in the blood within one to three weeks after infection, and antibodies to the virus are generally detectable within 3 to 12 weeks. Approximately 15-40% of persons infected with HCV clear the virus from their bodies during the acute phase as shown by normalization in liver function tests (LFTs) such as alanine transaminase (ALT) %26amp; aspartate transaminase (AST) normalization, as well as plasma HCV-RNA clearance (this is known as spontaneous viral clearance). The remaining 60-85% of patients infected with HCV develop chronic hepatitis C, i.e., infection lasting more than 6 months.

Previous practice was to not treat acute infections to see if the person would spontaneously clear; recent studies have shown that treatment during the acute phase of genotype 1 infections has a greater than 90% success rate with half the treatment time required for chronic infections, but that the majority of acute hepatitis C is cleared.

Chronic Hepatitis C

Chronic hepatitis C is defined as infection with the hepatitis C virus persisting for more than six months. Clinically, it is often asymptomatic (without symptoms) and it is mostly discovered accidentally.

The natural course of chronic hepatitis C varies considerably from one person to another. Virtually all people infected with HCV have evidence of inflammation on liver biopsy, however, the rate of progression of liver scarring (fibrosis) shows significant variability among individuals. Recent data suggests that among untreated patients, roughly one-third progress to liver cirrhosis in less than 20 years. Another third progress to cirrhosis within 30 years. The remainder of patients appear to progress so slowly that they are unlikely to develop cirrhosis within their lifetimes. Factors that have been reported to influence the rate of HCV disease progression include age (increasing age associated with more rapid progression), gender (males have more rapid disease progression than females), alcohol consumption (associated with an increased rate of disease progression), HIV coinfection (associated with a markedly increased rate of disease progression), and fatty liver (the presence of fat in liver cells has been associated with an increased rate of disease progression).

Symptoms specifically suggestive of liver disease are typically absent until substantial scarring of the liver has occurred. However, hepatitis C is a systemic disease and patients may experience a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations ranging from an absence of symptoms to a more symptomatic illness prior to the development of advanced liver disease. Generalized signs and symptoms associated with chronic hepatitis C include fatigue, marked weight loss, flu-like symptoms, muscle pain, joint pain, intermittent low-grade fevers, itching, sleep disturbances, abdominal pain (especially in the right upper quadrant), appetite changes, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, cognitive changes, depression, headaches, and mood swings.

Once chronic hepatitis C has progressed to cirrhosis, signs and symptoms may appear that are generally caused by either decreased liver function or increased pressure in the liver circulation, a condition known as portal hypertension. Possible signs and symptoms of liver cirrhosis include ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdomen), bruising and bleeding tendency, bone pain, varices (enlarged veins, especially in the stomach and esophagus), fatty stools (steatorrhea), jaundice, and a syndrome of cognitive impairment known as hepatic encephalopathy.

Liver function tests show variable elevation of ALAT, AST and GGTP and periodically they might show normal results. Usually prothrombin and albumin results are normal. The level of elevation of liver tests do not correlate well with the amount of liver injury on biopsy. Viral genotype and viral load also do not correlate with the amount of liver injury. Liver biopsy is the best test to determine the amount of scarring and inflammation. Radiographic studies such as ultrasound or CT scan do not show liver injury until it is fairly advanced.

Chronic hepatitis C, more than other forms of hepatitis, is diagnosed because of extrahepatic manifestations associated with the presence of HCV such as thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid) with hyperthyreosis or hypothyreosis, porphyria cutanea tarda, cryoglobulinemia (a form of vasculitis)[13] and glomerulonephritis (inflammation of the kidney), specifically membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN). Hepatitis C is also associated with sicca syndrome, thrombocytopenia, lichen planus, diabetes mellitus and with B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders.

The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is transmitted by blood-to-blood contact. In developed countries, it is estimated that 90% of persons with chronic HCV infection were infected through transfusion of unscreened blood or blood products or via injecting drug use or by inhalational drug use. In developing countries, the primary sources of HCV infection are unsterilized injection equipment and infusion of inadequately screened blood and blood products.

Although injection drug use and receipt of infected blood/blood products are the most common routes of HCV infection, any practice, activity, or situation that involves blood-to-blood exposure can potentially be a source of HCV infection. The virus may be sexually transmitted, although this is rare, and usually only occurs when an STD (like HIV) is also present and makes blood contact more likely.

Methods of transmission

Several activities and practices have been identified as potential sources of exposure to the hepatitis C virus. Anyone who may have been exposed to HCV through one or more of these routes should be screened for hepatitis C.

Injection drug use

Those who currently use or have used drug injection as their delivery route for illicit drugs are at increased risk for getting hepatitis C because they may be sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia (includes cookers, cotton, spoons, water, etc.), which may be contaminated with HCV-infected blood. An estimated 60% to 80% of all IV drug users in the United States have been infected with HCV. Harm reduction strategies are encouraged in many countries to reduce the spread of hepatitis C, through education, provision of clean needles and syringes, and safer injecting techniques.

Drug use by nasal inhalation (Drugs which are "snorted")

Researchers have suggested that the transmission of HCV may be possible through the nasal inhalation (insuffulation) of illegal drugs such as cocaine and crystal methamphetamine when straws (containing even trace amounts of mucus and blood) are shared among users.

Blood products

Blood transfusion, blood products, or organ transplantation prior to implementation of HCV screening (in the U.S., this would refer to procedures prior to 1992) is a decreasing risk factor for hepatitis C.

The virus was first isolated in 1989 and reliable tests to screen for the virus were not available until 1992. Therefore, those who received blood or blood products prior to the implementation of screening the blood supply for HCV may have been exposed to the virus. Blood products include clotting factors (taken by hemophiliacs), immunoglobulin, Rhogam, platelets, and plasma. In 2001, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the risk of HCV infection from a unit of transfused blood in the United States is less than one per million transfused units.

Iatrogenic medical or dental exposure

People can be exposed to HCV via inadequately or improperly sterilized medical or dental equipment. Equipment that may harbor contaminated blood if improperly sterilized includes needles or syringes, hemodialysis equipment, oral hygiene instruments, and jet air guns, etc. Scrupulous use of appropriate sterilization techniques and proper disposal of used equipment can reduce the risk of iatrogenic exposure to HCV to virtually zero.

Occupational exposure to blood

Medical and dental personnel, first responders (e.g., firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, law enforcement officers), and military combat personnel can be exposed to HCV through accidental exposure to blood through accidental needlesticks or blood spatter to the eyes or open wounds. Universal precautions to protect against such accidental exposures significantly reduce the risk of exposure to HCV.

Recreational exposure to blood

Contact sports and other activities, such as "slam dancing" that may r
Reply:You could have had hcv since the very first time you ever shared drugs. A blood transfusion also is a risk factor for hcv.

A person does not acquire HCV through sexual intercourse UNLESS there was an exchange in blood.

HCV corpuscles found in all bodily fluids except blood are NOT contagious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BLOOD TO BLOOD TO BLOOD TO BLOOD TO BLOOD ONLY!!!!!

You might find after thinking about your medical health you have had many symptoms of HCV!!! HCV is NEVER without symptoms- EVER. HCV has been misdiagnosed in almost all who have the disease. HCV has over 150 extrahepatic or bi-directional diseases and symptoms.

The test is most likely correct. If he tested your AFP markers and they are normal you do not have cancer, although some who's markers are high also do not have cancer.

ALT and AST levels can remain in normal limits and a person can still have chronic hcv infection.

As always, the degree of liver damage is not always concurrent with symptoms and vice versa. You can have minimal scarring with a few symptoms and you can have little fibrosis with extreme symptoms.

Many heppers have no clue how they got HCV infection. It can be something as minimal as going to the dentist or as extreme as drug use and blood tranfusions. The blood supply has been relatively safe since 1995. So no telling how you got it, whats important is getting rid of it! (antiviral chemotherapy is your only option, other than doing nothing).
Reply:You will need to connect with a medical authority on this one. I have fought against getting hep shots, not only for myself, but my wife and my 3 sons. Every health department I have asked (Plus the Army and the VA) state that it is a liver disease, spread by "body fluids" (as in having sex, being spit upon, getting shots, blood tests, dental work, etc.)

States that:

In general, you get hepatitis C by coming in contact with blood contaminated with the virus. Most people with hepatitis C became infected through blood transfusions received before 1992, the year improved blood-screening tests became available.

You can also get the virus by injecting drugs with contaminated needles and, less commonly, from contaminated needles used in tattooing and body piercing. Needle exchange programs, which increase the availability of sterile needles, are helping to reduce the risk of hepatitis C, HIV and other blood-borne diseases.

A small number of babies born to mothers with hepatitis C acquire the infection during childbirth. Mother-to-infant transmission rates are higher among women infected with both hepatitis C and HIV. Talk with your doctor about these risks before becoming pregnant.

In rare cases, hepatitis C may be transmitted sexually. And in many people infected with hepatitis C, no risk factor can be identified.

What is hepatitis?

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. Inflammation causes soreness and swelling. Hepatitis can be caused by many things. Lack of blood supply to the liver, poison, autoimmune disorders, an injury to the liver, and taking some medicines can cause hepatitis. However, hepatitis is most commonly caused by a virus.

There are 2 main kinds of hepatitis, acute hepatitis and chronic hepatitis. When a person has hepatitis, the liver may become inflamed very suddenly. This is called acute hepatitis. If you have acute hepatitis, you might have nausea, vomiting, fever and body aches. Or you may not have any symptoms. Most people get over the acute inflammation in a few days or a few weeks. Sometimes, however, the inflammation doesn't go away. When the inflammation doesn't go away, the person has chronic hepatitis.

How does hepatitis affect the liver?

The liver breaks down waste products in your blood. When the liver is inflamed, it doesn't do a good job of getting rid of waste products. One waste product in the blood, called bilirubin (say "billy-roo-bin"), begins to build up in the blood and tissues when the liver isn't working right. The bilirubin makes the skin of a person with hepatitis turn a yellow-orange color. This is called jaundice (say "john-dis"). Bilirubin and other waste products may also cause itching, nausea, fever and body aches.

What is hepatitis C?

There are 3 viruses that cause hepatitis. Each hepatitis virus is named with a letter of the alphabet: hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is usually spread through contact with blood products, like accidentally being stuck with a dirty (used) needle, using IV drugs and sharing needles, or getting a blood transfusion before 1992. Most people don't feel sick when they are first infected with hepatitis C. Instead, the virus stays in their liver and causes chronic liver inflammation.

Most people who are infected with hepatitis C don't have any symptoms for years. However, hepatitis C is a chronic illness (it doesn't go away). If you have hepatitis C, you need to be watched carefully by a doctor because it can lead to cirrhosis (a liver disease) and liver cancer.
Reply:The only method of transmission that I know of is intravenous needles, sex and tattoos. Unless you donate blood, it is unlikely that you would have ever been tested for hepatitis until you start showing symptoms. Even testing blood for Hep C has not been going on that long (5-8 years?).
Reply:The test for the Hep C virus is pretty accurate, and the lab should have run an additional test for confirmation of that. Hep C is spread through blood contact with the infected person, primarily. It's possible you have had the infection for some time without any symptoms at all- even as far back as your old drug days. If you had blood transfused prior to 1992, you may have recieved it then, because they couldn't rest blood or blood products reliably prior to that. Depending on exactly what tests were run, your doctor may order more to determine if you have a new infection, a chronic infection, or simply have the antibodies and not the infection. Hepatitis C can infect you for some time before you notice a problem, usually with the liver. What happens next will depend on what the tests reveal, really. If you do actually have a current infection, it is treatable. The treatment is expensive, but there are agencies that can help. One place I recommend you go to read all you need to know is

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hepat...

That site will provide all the latest info on Hep C you will want or need to know. In the meantime, make a list of the questions you want to ask your doctor, so you are prepared when you see him next. Then you can make the informed decisions you will need to make.
Reply:the test is likely correct, unfortunately. hep C is caused by IV drug use (sharing needles with someone who has it) or it can be transmitted sexually. hep C is very unpredictable... it can progress to cirrhosis or liver cancer, but some people never have any symptoms. cirrhosis or liver cancer could cause elevated liver enzymes, but would not lead to a positive hep c result. don't drink, be careful of meds (as many, like tylenol, can have liver side effects), and use protection with intercourse (as you could pas it on). good luck, hope this helped.

How long is the C.U.N.Y placement test and does it goes to every community college that you apply to?

CUNY schools are not community colleges. They do have four-year programs.

The placement test is only for that school. You would generally take the placement test once you let that school know that you are going there. If you are not planning to attend that school, then do not take the test. The placement test is only for that school and no other school will know how you did.

How long is the C.U.N.Y placement test and does it goes to every community college that you apply to?
I am enrolled in online classes through a college, and I never had to take an entrance exam or the C.U.N.Y., but I am taking classes online from a college in Iowa, and I live in Tennessee, I don't think my college is a community college, so that may be the difference!

MODEL 94

- 12, 16, 20, 28 ga., or .410 bore, single shot breakopen, hammer, 6 1/4 lbs. Manufactured 1929-discontinued. I believe these were still made in the late 50's, but I'm not sure exactly when they were discontinued.

Depending on condition, value would be $40 - $95.

Have anyone had a D & C (miscarriage) and get a Genetic analysis on the fetus? How long wait for the result?

I was just wondering. My best friend's fetus died at 8 weeks and had a missed miscarriage. She had a D %26amp; C and waiting for genetic testing result. How long to wait? What will it tell you? THANKS!!

Have anyone had a D %26amp; C (miscarriage) and get a Genetic analysis on the fetus? How long wait for the result?
The doctors gave me the result of the test at by post opp. appointment which was two weeks after my D %26amp; C.
Reply:The D%26amp;C basically cleans out the uterus if the body is not ridding itself of the products of conception naturally. Having genetic testing done is a way to help determine the reason for the miscarriage, although it's not always conclusive. The test results usually return in about 10-14 days, depending on whether or not the specimen had to be sent to another lab after the initial testing. Hopefully it will be helpful for her!
Reply:I haven't but I think every woman who has a D%26amp;C should automatically get a genetic analysis to determine cause. Otherwise, what is the point of the risk of uterine damage?

Typically, the wait is about 10 days, but technology changes, so I can't say for certain.

Can you be convicted of DWI even if your blood test came out clean for drugs and alcohol? This is in Staffor,?

The officer said i weaved on the road. I was on my cell phone and i dont believe i was weaving. He ordered me to get out of my car and I do have a bad back i told him. He gave me the numbers test which i passed on the FST and I believed i passed the A B C test but he said I missed P and Q. I told him I didn't have anything to drink nor did i take any drugs. He still wanted me to go through other test even though i have weakness in my left leg and all. This was all done on a hill as well. I told him i would agree to a breathlyzer test and a blood test. He told me to blow but didn't tell me how hard so i blowed and the top came off. I still agreed to take it again anyway. I blew a 0.00 after telling him i didn't want to take any more test that i was tired he still wanted me to take more test. Then they took me to get my blood drawn and it came out 2 weeks later that no alcohol or drugs of any kind that they tested me for was in my system.

Can you be convicted of DWI even if your blood test came out clean for drugs and alcohol? This is in Staffor,?
A blood test would supersede a field sobriety test in court. You could have been cited for distracted driving, but you have to BE under the influence to be convicted of a DUI or DWI.
Reply:that is the problem most states have changed there laws to be driving while impaired. so it is up to the officers discretion as to the impairment Report It

Reply:Were you ever arrested? If so you may have a civil action against the city for false arrest.
Reply:If the test proved negative then you have nothing to worry about. If you have stopped at I don't want to take anymore tests, they where you could have gotten in trouble. But I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Reply:If the tests came out negative, the officer has no evidence that you were intoxicated, and I can't imagine what court would convict you. He can still get you for weaving and improper lane usage, but this is a lot less serious than a DUI.
Reply:you don't have anything to worry about
Reply:Most of the time, yes. Usually laws interpret DWI as impairment OF ANY KIND. That means cell phone, fast food, changing the radio station, yammering toddler, whatever. You drove while something was distracting you. People do it all the time, but it's dangerous nonetheless.

What are the odds of guessing on a multiple choice test?

If you don't know the answers to any questions on a multiple choice test with four choices per question: A, B, C, and D, are you better off guessing the same letter for each question than you are "mixing it up" and guessing different letters for each question? Why?

What are the odds of guessing on a multiple choice test?
1/4

By guessing the same letter for each question

you will at least get some right
Reply:The odds either way are the same. This however may be affected by human test preparation error. Some test makers are more likely to produce tests with a certain letter choice appearing more frequently. There was a standardized test a while back on which a study was conducted showing this.

In your case however, assume that there is no human factor. If this is done than all letters that are possible on each question have equal probability than any other answer.
Reply:Your odds remain the same regardless of choosing one letter, or mixing it up.

Your teacher may have random answers for (a,b,c,d) so if you guess only one letter you may get some right.

I had a teacher who made it so that on one of our test the answer was always "a". No one in the class got 100% because they were convinced some answers had to be wrong because only "a" kept appearing on their paper. So students deliberately chose the wrong answers.

My best advice would be to at least try and eliminate 1 or 2 answers when guessing. This will at least improve your odds of guessing the right answer.
Reply:Hi,

Assuming the test has random answers only one of the answers out of 4 is correct. So it doesn't matter which one you choose you have a probably of 1/4 (favorable outcomes /total out comes) or odds of 1 to 3 (favorable outcomes / unfavorable outcomes) that it is correct. So if you choose all A's for example it is the same as mixing them up..

Hope This Helps!
Reply:Assuming that it is a truly random answer key, you are better off picking all the same.

Reason:

let's say that I pick A

probability that A is right: 1/4

Thus, if test is random, the probability that you will not have gotten an answer correct is...

after question 1: 75%

after question 2: 56%

after question 3: 42%

after question 4: 31%

and so on

If answers are mixed, this pretty pattern does not always hold true.
Reply:someone told me that it's better to only use one answer for all the questions that you don't know the answer to, and that it's better to guess B or C because teachers don't want to put the answer first or last. then again i guess it depends on if they made the answers themselves. probaby better off studying though, i should more often lol
Reply:First off if you guess your odds isn't alway 25% it changes

first answer of guessing is 25% or 1/4 *1 then the second answer is 12.5% or 1/4*2... I don't know what to say but i guess it depends if its multiple your screwed guess no matter what b.c you have a low changes of getting the right answer. if its true false keep with one answer....and if it's matching or fill in the blank your just plain screwed...next time study
Reply:The two strategies are not very different in principle without a knowledge of the distribution of the answers. One cannot be sure which method will produce a better outcome. This goes to show the truth of the saying that "knowledge is power".
Reply:Always choose "C" as the answer if you have absolutely NO CLUE as to the answer, I know people will probably give me thumbs down, but it has been studied and PROVED that the majority of answers are "C", based on testing.
Reply:Yeah, if you have no idea then theoretically you have a 25% chance of getting it right regardless. When coming to probability, each question is separate.
Reply:Technically, the odds remain 25% chance on each question whether you stick with the same letter or not. No matter what you do, your guess will always have a 25% chance of being correct.
Reply:honestly, it is all 25%chances of getting it correct.

however, personally, i think that there are less chances of getting it correct if u guess A and D
Reply:Depends on how the teacher makes the test. Some teachers make the tests more random than others. Sorry but you're better off studying :(
Reply:You have a 25% chance of getting it right and a 75% chance of getting it wrong if you have no idea.

What is the magnitude of the electric field at the location of the test charge?

A positive test charge of 5.0 x 10^-4 C is in an electric field that exerts a force of 2.5 x 10^-4 N on it. What is the magnitude of the electric field at the location of the test charge?

What is the magnitude of the electric field at the location of the test charge?
By definition the force on the charge exerted by the electric field is:

F = E*Q,

were:

F - force (N),

E - electric field (V/m), and

Q - electric charge (As).

Therefore in your case: E = F/Q = 2.5*10^-4/5*10^-4 = 0.5 V/m.

I must take an multi-choice test( chose a, b, c, or d for an answer). Is there any tip for me?

study, go online and find practice exams for your subject..look at the text books website, some teachers actually pull their tests of that, knowing that few if any kids check it out, and if they do ...well more power to them

also..

slow down, cross out ones that cant be so..then do your best from what is left to get the correct

read the question carefully...sometimes people mess out because they skim it, think they know it, but there will be a word they miss in the question, I like to read it, look over the answer, read it again, answer.,then read it again..

I must take an multi-choice test( chose a, b, c, or d for an answer). Is there any tip for me?
all you need to do is process of elimination... choose two answers that are completely wrong and you'll get a fifty fifty chance of getting the right answer with the other two answers you have
Reply:how old are u? aren't u supposed to be taking those starting 4th grade? ...well, my tip for u is to eliminate absurd answers down to 2 and choose the best one
Reply:Study. Narrow down answers to the choices that seem realistic. Studies have shown that C is the answer choice that is correct the greatest percentage of teh time. So, when in doubt, go for C. Take it easy, read each question carefully, and good luck!

Hope this helps! ;-)
Reply:When I don't know the answer I always pick C. Don't know if that helped any.

How old are you fustian? Multi choice when you get older doesn't always have the same high school system of 2 stupid answers and 2 possible answers, they usually have 4 answers that each sound as good as the next.

When having major surgery do they test you for HIV?

I have never been tested for HIV. I got married and I hadnt had but two partners and we used protection. I have been with my husband for 7 years and never had a symptom or thought about it. Well I was talking to my girlfriend about it b/c she just had a HIV test and I told her I hadnt had one and she said "Well you probally did when you had you rbrain surgery, because whenever they do any major surgery they test for everything!!" The day before I went in for my brain surgery they took so much blood and did so many tests it was unbelievable!!!!! So is it true? Did they run a HIV test more than likely?

When having major surgery do they test you for HIV?
Yes all these tests are done and including the test for HIV.

It is not disclosed to the patient, but if anyone is HIV positive then extra precautions are to be taken by the surgical and other paramedical team while operating. This is for their own safety.

Happy now..or want to ask more.
Reply:I do agree with NurseBunny. They can not run a HIV test without your knowledge and consent. If they do it is illegal. Western medical field is quiet particular with this issue. However, there are developing countries still do HIV test as part of pre-operative investigation.

I can not agree with Bakhan that knowing the status of HIV will help professionals to take extra precaution. It is not. When you treat or perform any invasive procedures like surgeries , as a medical professional you need to consider every patient as an potentially infected and you need to be vigilant in practising the standard precaution in a given situation.

It does`t matter that the patient is HIV positive or negative.

Hope, this helps
Reply:Probably not...you have to sign a waiver/consent to have an HIV test. They don't just run them as a routine test and they can't do it without your permission and knowledge.

Don't you agree that it is inhumane to test products on animals? C'mon there are other alternatives.?

No, animals are basically food. If they arent for eating and cant defend themselves from us they have earned the right to be test subjects. The animals dont care at all. Just ask them.

Don't you agree that it is inhumane to test products on animals? C'mon there are other alternatives.?
Absolutely, Positively, Unequivocally YES, I agree NO ANIMAL TESTING!!

There is NOTHING we need bad enough to harm another living creature.
Reply:Yes I agree. It doesn't help anyway, what is bad for animals isn't neccassarily bad for us (and vice versa). How many drugs have they had to recall because they tested safe in animals but turned out to be harmful or deadly to humans?

BTW: Humulin insulin in not made from animals.

Humulin is synthesized in a special non-disease-producing special laboratory strain of Escherichia coli bacteria that has been genetically altered by the addition of the gene for human insulin production.

Reply:Like people. I rather them test anamals then humans.........
Reply:hell yeah, and testing drugs is not all they do to animals they torture them with little experiments like starving them or depriving them of water to see how long it takes them to die, or giving them electroshock therapy to see what people go through when they have epoleptic seizures( like that could explain anything), or trying to crush a dogs leg without damaging the muscle, blinding animals for no reason. there is so much shi* that animals are forced to endure thats why people should get their pets spayed and neutered and have the common decency to not get a pet if they are not going to take care of them. instead of animal testing they should test on murderers and child molesters.
Reply:well it depends on what kind of products and animals.so its a sorta for me!
Reply:Yeah, I'd have to agree. Just because we have more intellectual power than animals doesn't give us the right to test on them. Would we have the right to test something on a person who was stupid just because he was stupid?
Reply:All I want to say is everyone *completely* against animal testing (even medical) shouldn't go to the doctor or vet anymore. Even 'simple' but important things like antibiotics and vaccines came to be from animal testing. I think it's wrong to benefit from something you don't believe in, are against and preach about...stand by your beliefs. I won't buy needless things tested on animals (ever), but you better believe I won't turn down cancer treatment...will you?
Reply:I agree with Cat. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge animal lover. I do my part to help by donating to the SPCA, buying household products that don't test on animals, and adopting my pets. I'm by no means saying that animals should be used to test things like hairspray, cleaning solutions, make-up etc. etc. but for medical use, we really don't have another choice. If people were the test dummies and they were dying out like flies, don't you think there would be much more outrage in this country? Let's see 100 human lives or 100 rat lives? Seems pretty obvious to me. If you take your pet to the vet, as most pet owners do, you are supporting animal testing. How else do you think they came up will pet medicines? Would you be willing to let your own pet suffer because you don't agree with the testing needed to heal him? It's also funny how all these people who claim to be sooooo against ALL animal testing are the first in line for vaccines and treatments. A PETA vice President, Mary Beth Sweeten, is a Type A diabetic who uses insulin developed from testing on dogs.....my point exactly. If your child had cancer, would you just say "oh well, we will have to fight this off the best we can without medicine" or would you also be the first in line for the newest life saving treatment? When you get a cold or headache, don't you buy over the counter drugs to ease the symptoms? I find it hard to beleive that anyone can value an animal's life above a human's, but that's just me.
Reply:ANYONE who SAID no IS HEARTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Yes it is. It's disgusting to see some of the things scientists have put animals through. Taking baby monkeys away from their mothers and watching how they react after living in isolation (a dark box) until adulthood, only to be dumped in a pen with other monkeys years later... the poor thing was scared to death.

Sadly that isn't so bad compared to other things i've seen them do (causing retardation). Is abusing "lower life forms" really the correct way to establish human kind as a superior race? I don't think so.
Reply:yes you are totally right it is a very wrong thing to do if there was a different easier cheaper way to test then they would probably jump on the opportunity but there isn't so until they find a way to test on something else then oh well
Reply:Drugs and medicine, I think it's ok.

These drugs could potentially save a life, cure a disease.

Testing products, things we more want then need.

I think it's ridiculous, unfair and cruel.

Something is wrong with our world when we still see it ok to rub shampoo in an animals eye to see what happens.

What a shame.
Reply:Funny is that they don't even have the same effects on us.
Reply:Nothing should ever be tested on animals. Animals were not brought into this world to be tortured, maimed or abused for the sake of humanity. We, as a socierty, have to search for alternatives. 100% Animal Test Free!
Reply:Yes, I agree. Humans seem to be too scared to risk their lives, but they dont think it's a problem to risk the lives of innocent animals. Im not vegetarian or vegan etc. but I still think testing on animals is wrong. I think that we should test the products on ourselfs... maybe.
Reply:yes, it's unsciencetific and cruel anyone who thinks its right is stupid, nothing we've learned in science is from animal testing, animals react difrently to things then we do, insulin shots will kill animals while ppl with diabetis have to take them, why do you thing so many comercial drugs out there have side effects like "head-ache, dry mouth, fainting,dizzyness, and sometimes fatal sideeffect?" its because on animals the drug was harmless but on people its not.

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...

this is unscientific, nothing can be learned from it
Reply:"products" should NOT be tested on animals.

Medications have to be.
Reply:Yeah, you could be the guinnea pig. I know I'd rather them test it on animals before humans...and I love animals.
Reply:No, I can't say I agree with you. Personally, I prefer not to test my cat food on myself before giving it to my cat. I fully expect Science Diet to test its products on animals before selling it to consumers.

As far as household products go, then yes, I agree - and I try not to buy household products that are tested on animals. But I do have my priorities - for example, I could care less if they brush dogs' teeth with toothpaste just as long as they keep the Pine Sol out of it.

I agree somewhat that drugs shouldn't be tested on animals only because there are so many people who are stricken with diseases and debilitating conditions who would be grateful to have the chance to test new medications - people who either can't afford treatment or people who can't be helped any other way. I know that if I developed a medication and needed to test it, I would first try to find some human volunteer subjects before looking for animals. But unfortunately, our society is too lawsuit happy to allow humans to be the first test subjects.
Reply:yep animals are human i bet if they could talk they'll want to rebel agains human hehehe

"treat others how u want to be treated" i guess that inclueds animals
Reply:True.

We should be testing them on Liberals.

Animals are too cute.
Reply:In some cases, no, there is no other alternative, unless you want to go back to Nazi Germany when testing was done on humans.
Reply:Yes, I do agree with you. Especially when there are so many prisons, stuffed with people who would be good candidates.
Reply:I think it's according to what the product is. There are a lot of life saving medications, etc that we would not have if not for animal testing. As much as I love my pets, I do value human life much more than animals.

Reply:it IS inhuman to do anything to molest animals. Should be tested on humans or not tested at all! humans can talk, animals can not talk!!!!
Reply:Yes, I think it is inhumane. It's a tricky situation though, companies can't just release products that may be harmful to people (and animals) by just relying on computer simulations and tests. I guess for me it depends what exactly they're testing. If it's a new drug that could save lives then I have less of a problem with it.
Reply:Rats and mice.........sure test them.

But not horses or dogs or other animals like that.

Before you know it there will be a group out there trying to save the carrot
Reply:Let's have accurate info before we get bent out of shape! Are we aware that Humulin (it's a type of human insulin) is actually manufacted from porcine (pig) and bovine (cow) insulin, it also has a synthetic aspect as well. These animals help us in other ways that just testing--they are a source of treatment for us poor humans that can't secrete our own hormones and enzymes. Any insulin overdose will harm any critter beit human, canine, feline, and the like. These animals are just a mere few chromosomes off from being our counterparts which is why medical, and I stress the word medical, testing and research is vital to humanity. As far as other alternatives go, in vitro studies using cells from cadavers are used in pharmaceutical research. If we have such a problem with the little fuzzies being used, why don't we pony up our bodies--any volunteers? I have the sticker on my driver's license--do you?

Had sex w/a guy 2 nites ago & next mrng he told me he has a g/friend. He said it was a test 2 c my reaxion.?

He still calls me but it's b 4 the booty call hours sometimes. I kinda like him but I know I shouldn't call him. What should I do? Please only helpful serious answers.

Had sex w/a guy 2 nites ago %26amp; next mrng he told me he has a g/friend. He said it was a test 2 c my reaxion.?
XXXXXXXXXXXXx How could he have respect for you when obviously you don't have respect for yourself and your body? Obviously you are just a friend with benefits. Is this the kind of life you want? Surely you deserve better. Wake up and kick his butt to the curb. Find someone who can be your bf and dedicate himself to you only. Stop being someone elses mans sidekick.
Reply:he's a bigtime loser, just move on. he's probably just making use of u.
Reply:what a jerk!!! next time he calls be like all you have a girlfriend and you didnt tell me and then you still call me and all that crap grow up and learn respect for me and your self!!! i would do that if that happened to me!!!!

Reply:sounds like a player to me, if he cant call you at a decent hour and ask you to go to dinner or catch a movie you are wasting your time..there are better men out there.
Reply:I think he was telling the truth when he said he had a girlfriend. Move on and ignore his calls. 2 timers suck big time!!!
Reply:No guy would say they have a girlfriend is it wasn't true. The fact that he told you the next moring means he's just using you for a booty call. Don't let yourself be used. Find someone who sees you for what your worth.
Reply:hey, if u dont mind giving it up with no string attached. and it's safe sex.... i know i am going 2 get slam for say, but go 4 it. however, if u play with fire u just might get burnt.. ur choice... peace and good luck.

BTW, what are the booty call hours?

Serious answer: FORGET HIM. HE IS A DOG.
Reply:dudes playin games.if he is a real player when would hev told u up front about him having a girl.with him telling u after is him trying to cover up something.
Reply:Drop him. Your response should have been to kick him in the balls.
Reply:FIND SOMEONE ELSE! Don't you deserve better than that?
Reply:you want this manipulative guy?

why do you even want to help this guy? Get over him, and find the next hot guy.
Reply:Don't hate the player hate the game. You just got used, now move on and learn not to be the substitute. You know where you stand with him. Move on, don't be any-ones second choice.
Reply:you're just a booty call to him, and he's a cheating dog. drop him, unless you want to get hurt.
Reply:i would tell him that if he loves his girlfriend that he should stop sleeping around and be honost with her.

if his girlfriend ever found out that he was cheating on her with you, she would have every right to be angry with him because he is not a faithful guy to trust.
Reply:Tell him that you have feelings as well and if he cannot respect that, he can go on his merry way
Reply:Leave his a** alone is what you should do!
Reply:girl you need to let him be. found out who his girl is let her know, cause nobody deserve to be treated like that and if you were to hook up with him how are you to know he won't do it to you. be smart not a booty call. in the long run if you still are messing with him you will just in up hurt.
Reply:Either he has a girlfriend or he likes to play games. Either way, it isn't good. Move on.
Reply:move on %26amp; I hope u wore a condom
Reply:if he is cheating on his girlfriend now what do you think he would do if you where his girlfriend? %26amp; besides, if he said he only wanted to see your reaction than he's only playing games. i would tell him to go to wal-mart %26amp; buy a monopoly game if he's that board.
Reply:I think you should let him go and find someone else. I don't think he's worth it. The whole testing your reaction thing sounds like BS. You can find someone better.

Balanced c)Equation for the test for carbon dioxide using calcium hydroxide solution?

CO2+Ca(OH)2---%26gt;CaCO3(s)+H2O

I have a huge physics test tomorrow so can somone plz explain A B, and C?

9. A rocket is launched at an angle of 53.0 degrees above the horizontal with an inital speed of 100 m/s. It moves 3.00 sec along its initial line of motion with an acceleration of 30.0 m/s^2. A this time its engines fail and the rocket proceeds to move as a free body. Find (a) the maximum altitude reached by the rocked, (b) its total time flight, and (c) its horizontal range.

I think I get C but I have no clue about how to solve A and B.

I have a huge physics test tomorrow so can somone plz explain A B, and C?
Sorry I didn't get to this before the test.

You have two situtations, each of which can be described by constant acceleration equations.

Rockets on:

Acceleration a constant 30 m/s^2, in the direction of the initial rocket blast, which is the same as the line of motion. Acceleration is a vector, and has x and y components:

ax = 30 cos 53 = 18.05 m/s^2

ay = 30 sin 53 - 9.8 (the object is pulled by gravity, even when the rockets are firing) = 14.16 m/s^2

The initial velocity components are

vx = 100 cos 53 = 60.18 m/s

vy = 100 sin 53 = 78.86 m/s

v(t) = a*t + v0. Let's evaluate this to get the velocity in each direction after 3 seconds

vx(3) = 18.05(3) + 60.18 = 114 m/s

vy(3) = 14.16(3) + 78.86 = 122 m/s

x(3) = (1/2)18.05 * 3^2 + 60.18*3 = 262 m/s

y(3) = (1/2)14.16 * 3^2 + 78.86*3 = 303 m/s

These final velocities will be the initial velocities for the motion after the rockets fail.

The new equations are:

x(t) = (1/2)*18.05*t^2 + 114*t + 262

y(t) = (1/2)(-9.8)t^2 + 122*t + 303

vx(t) = 18.05t + 114

vy(t) = -9.8t + 122

A. Maximum altitude:

This occurs when vy = 0.

Solving 0 = -9.8t + 122 for t gives t = 12.5 s.

Now plug this time into y(t)

y(12.5) = -4.9 ( 12.5)^2 + 122 (12.5) + 262 = 1066m.

B. Total time in flight.

The flight ends when the rocket hits the ground.

Mathematically, -4.9t^2 + 122t + 303 = 0.

The positive solution to this equation is t = 27.24. The total time of flight is 30.24, including the initial 3 second engine burn.

C. Horizontal range

Now we can place the time of flight (not counting the initial 3 seconds) into

x(t) = (1/2)*18.05*t^2 + 114*t + 262 = 10074.83

It's been a while since I've done this. Hope this helps!
Reply:Since it moves along it's original line of motion, g must be cancelled by part of the upward component of the roket's thrust, and 30.0 m/sec^2 may be considered the only acceleration operating:

v = v0 + at, but because you need to have the vertical and horizontal distances travelled in the 1st 3.00 sec, as well as the velocity, separate the problem into 2 problems:

Vx = V0x +AxT, X = V0xT + (1/2)AxT^2, and

Vy = V0y +AyT, Y = V0yT + (1/2)AyT^2

Vx = 100cos53 +30(cos53)(3) = 190cos53

X = 100cos53(3) +(1/2)30(cos53)(3)^2 = 435cos53

Vy = 100sin53 +30(sin53)(3) = 190sin53

Y = 100sin53(3) +(1/2)30(sin53)(3)^2 = 435sin53

(Actually I could have waited 'til here to resolve the components--I'm a bit rusty) Now you have the initial conditions for the free-fall portion of the flight.

a) maximum altitude:

2a(s-s0) = v^2 - v0^2, s = (v^2-v0^2)/(2a) + s0

Y = 435sin53 -(190sin53)^2)/(2*(-9.8))

Y = 347.41 + 1174.76

Y = 1522.17 meters

b) total time of flight must also be broken into 2 parts: time to reach zenith, and time to fall back to earth.

Rising time:

T = (Vy - V0y)/A + T0

T = (0-190sin53)/-9.8 = 15.484 sec + 3 sec

Falling time:

2Y = 2V0yT + AyT^2, but v0 is 0 this time.

T = sqrt(2Y/A) = sqrt(2*1522.17/9.8) = 17.625 sec.

T(ff) = 17.625 + 15.484 = 33.109 sec.

T(total) = 36.109 sec.

c) horizontal range

X = V0xT + (1/2)AxT^2 + X0

X = 190cos53)(33.109) + 435cos53

X = 6725.71cos53

X = 4,047.6 meters
Reply:Erm - how can you get its horizontal range without knowing time of flight?

How know its flight time without calculating maximum height?

Very best of luck - Mike
Reply:I cud do this question but iv got november exams cumin up an i havnt done a tap. so here it is for a) the max altitude is calculated by putting the velocity on the y(vertical or J) axis equal to 0. Every thing else shud be pretty straight forward

Can I convert results from a Rockwell test to Vickers DPN?

Hey all, I have a lab report I'm trying to do and it's saying to convert my numbers into Vickers DPN, but doesn't say how, and I can't find anything on it online.

We were using Rockwell A, B, C, and F scales to test hardness and my units right now are HRB. I'm not sure what to do with this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can I convert results from a Rockwell test to Vickers DPN?
Just type in hardness conversion in Google or any other search engine and you should be able to find conversion charts that you can use.

Does j.c.penny drug test its employees?

cuz I went to do a return and The lady was all drugged out. but honestly..do they?

Does j.c.penny drug test its employees?
Most places do when they first hire someone, but then not again until that person has an accident, unless you have direct control over other peoples welfare (such as a school bus driver). These people do have random checks. But a clerk at JC Penny's probably will not be randomly tested.
Reply:no, they just let whoever wants to work there, work there, especially these days. The evidence for it conspicuous.

No. You have to be taking something with HCG or progesterone in it... that would be fertility meds or certain birth control options.

What happens when Vitamin C is added to an iodine and starch solution?

It's a grade 10 high school chemistry question :)

As you may already know, an iodine and starch solution is an aqueous solution with a dark violet/black color. But when you add vitamin C to the solution, what happens? Can you provide a lengthy explanation for me? Tomorrow, I'm doing an experiment which tests the levels of vitamin C in different substances, but all I need to know for now is what will happen.

What happens when Vitamin C is added to an iodine and starch solution?
Vitamin C. reacts with iodine:

C6H8O6 + I2 ==%26gt; C6H6O6 + 2H+ + 2 I-

So you can use titration with iodine to find out the concentration of vitamin C. Since the reaction ratio is 1:1, moles vitamin = moles I2 at the endpoint, so concentrations (M) x volumes are also equal. The reasoning is a bit like in acid-base titrations, which you might have met.

The suspended starch forms a dark blue loosely held complex (almost a solid state solution) with I2, so long as there is any, so it acts as an indicator.
