If you have an A in a certain class,and you recieve a C on a test will it affect your grade dramatically?

In my history class, I have been doing very well, 2nd top in my class, but recently we took a big 100 point test, and I stupidly recieved a 76/100.





I currently have a 97.4% in the class,and she hasn't added the test yet into the grades,will it change dramaticlly or stay in the A range?


She also has not added to other assignments,one worth 20 points (I recieved 20) and an extra credit assignment she has not yet graded but from 15-20 points will be given,will the grade still possible stay in the A range?

Well..........depends on the teacher. My old teacher counted tests as about 35-40%. tests are a huge chunk of your grade. Af course it will lower your grade. not like stuninly low but it will most likely be about 95% or so. don't worry just do you homework and you should be fine!
Reply:It only depends. If that is the only you've got then chances, your still getting an A.

Reply:You didn't say what the A range is. Does it start at 90? If so, then there's a real good chance that you can retain the A. You should talk to your teacher. If you really want that A, ask for some extra credit or something. Tell your teacher that you oopsed on that test and you want to do everything you can to get an A. Also, ask what your percentage is right now before you commit to extra work. Maybe you won't need to do any extra credit.
Reply:There is no way to tell. If your tests and quizzes are worth only 20% of your grade, it won't make much of a difference. If they ae worth 50% it will. It also depends how many total assignments are involved in figuring your grade. The more assignments, the less weight your test will carry. You need to ask your teacher how he or she weights his or her grades.





And what's the big deal if you get a B? It doesn't mean you are not smart. Lighten up on yourself.

I have classes where tests are worth 60% and I've gotten C's on them and still ended up with A's for the quarter.





The less you worry about it the better off you are.
