on a multiple choice test of 124 questions, the answers follow a repeated pattern of B-D-A-C. I a student answers with a repeated pattern of A-B-B-C-D, what persent of the questions will be answered correctly?

i need to know the algebra part of this. i got x/20 (5) = c

also i need some general information besides the pattern the letters go in cuz i know that...and i know the answer...im just missing one thing to my math portfolio and i dont know what.

THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!!

On a multiple choice test of 124 questions, the answers follow a repeated pattern of B-D-A-C. I a student answ
This is pretty easy; you just need to focus on the prob at hand:

Given:

Test questions total: 124

Total number of correct answer per 20:

right answers - your answers

b - a

d - b

a - b

c - c -right

b -d

d - a

a - b

c - b

b - c

d - d -right

a - a -right

c - b

b - b -right

d - c

a - d

c -a

b - b -right

d - b

a - c

c - d

So out of every 20 you got 6 right

Divide the number of questions (124) by the number which divides into both your answer pattern (5) and the correct answers pattern (4) which will be 20.

124 / 20 = 6.2

Then multiply that answer (6.2) by the number of answers which you got correct within the 20 question/answer pattern sequence (5)

6.2 x 5 = 31

so you answered 31 out of the 124 questions correctly!!!!

To get the percent of it:

31 divided by 124 = 0.25

You got 25% of the questions right!!
Reply:You messed up.. You got the correct answer, but only by coincidence. You made a mistake in the line that says 124/20 = 6.2 Report It

Reply:It should be 120/20 = 6.. Then you have to look at questions 121-124 individually. You made an assumption that the number of correct in 121-124 = 4 / (20/5) which is true but only coincidentally. What if the 5 correct per 20 were 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20? Report It

Reply:B D A C (pattern of 4)

A B B C D (pattern of 5)

These patterns repeat themselve after 20 questions (4x5). We look at within 20 questions, how many corrected answer would occur? Looking at C in the second pattern, that is corrected answer pattern start and its sequence is CDABB. There are only 5 corrected answer within 20 questions.

Because of repeation of pattern, the percent is 5/20x100 = 25%. It's true for whatever number of questions would be asked.

So 5 x 124/20 = 31 corrected answers in 124 questions

percent = 31/124 x 100 = 25%
