How do you study for a test?

This year I'm taking harder classes (such as Bio XL) and the test are really hard. I've been getting B's and C's on the test (that is not good). Does anyone have any good study tips? How do you study?

Speak to yourself. I know it may sound crazy or strange, but I find speaking to myself is easy. I read notes aloud and then look away from the notes and try to recite or paraphrase the info. out loud. I find that it helps me remember because then when I'm taking a test I can try to remember info. that I obtained through sight and through hearing.


Relax when you are studying. Stressing and being too into it may actually through you off and limit your memory span.


Have a friend or family member test you and ask you questions using the notes and have you answer them. You can have fun while studying that way.


Maybe create a song, poem, or story to help you memorize the information more easily, like how kids (and adults) sing the "A, B, C's" when alphabetizing.


Maybe create a game when studying. EX. Make a chart of answers on the ground as targets. When you ask yourself a question, through an object such as a ball onto that answer-target. That is a very simple example. You can get creative.
