Afp test hep c?

i have a reading of 9.1 my doc says its very minimally elevated what is the test and what does it show does it mean iam closer to a new liver should i be freaking out yet or what a while and yes i no i cant spell iam L. D.

Afp test hep c?
I also have hepatitis C and know about this test. It is called alphs-feta-protein and 9.1 is extremely low and nothing to worry about, though I'm sure they will keep their eye on it to see if it gets higher. My AFP is 43 and I do have something to worry about. What it is a hint of tumor development in your liver. They can't say that it is right or wrong, just they find a level of AFP higher than 0 in people who get liver cancer. You most likely have had the virus for over 20 years and have cirohssis as well. We should not have any amount of AFP at all, but having hcv will often cause it to be higher though they have no reason to explain it. So, you have nothing to worry about now.
Reply:I'm not sure what you mean about afp or the level of 9.1. I have hvc and I can direct you to a couple of web sites which are very helpful. Perhaps your doc said your anc is 9.1?? You can go to this site which has a list of tests and normal values: http://janis7hepc.com/index.htm There are also people there who offer a lot of knowledge and support. There are many there who are on the waiting list for livers, too. Another good site is this: http://www.hepatitisneighborhood.com/def...

Please feel free to contact me if you want, also.
