Can I just ask why women come on here and ask "Am I pregnant" when they could just take a test for free at a c

linic or less than 7 bucks at a store?


The people on yahoo answers arent psychic we don't know any more than you do if you are or not! Unless the person is either really afraid to take a test or is trying to conceive and doesnt want to get their hopes and then take a negative test, those are the only reasons I can understand why they come on here and ask.

Ugh that pisses me off so much too when people ask ' Am I pregnant!' seriously go buy a test it's not that hard....
Reply:cause there worried and need someone to help them and calm then down.. its a scary time.
Reply:i think because they think they can get the answers from us like we are mind readers or something. I think that if we tell them that they are not then they will leave alone and if we tell them go get a test they are running out the door the next second. i like tring to guess anyways.
Reply:some people choose to ask that question because they need help and advice. some people choose to turn to people they don't know because they feel more comfortable and even tho they are going to get a home pregnancy test, they just need to be told to.
Reply:1. They don't want to pay for a HPT (either because they don't have the money, don't want to spend the money, or feel embarrassed about buying one).


2. They're scared to go to a clinic or don't know that they have that option.
Reply:They usually don't say am I pregnant they usually have symptoms and more details then that. Its not wrong to ask for other peoples experiences its helpful.

Reply:I think people ask these questions because they truely don't know. I think that people, and myself included want to know that there are people out there willing to talk and answer their questions, and calm their fears. Others want to make sure they aren't jumping the gun and psyching themselves out. Maybe they don't have a car to get to a clinic, or money to blow on tests just to find out they aren't... there are a lot of reasons.
Reply:I can't stand the hundreds of rediculous questions like that either, where the only and I mean ONLY answer is "take a pregnancy test."
Reply:Anxiety nervousness ... wondering if they are really having pregnancy symptoms or just in their head... the stores may be closed, they may live out in the sticks... you're right it really doesn't confirm anything... but it may keep us busy enough until the store opens. lol.

Reply:One if you take a pregnancy test too soon then you don't get the right results. Two if you go to a clinic and they do a pregnancy test on you too early it can come back negative when you are indeed pregnant. Some people are afriad of getting their hopes up when they are trying to conceive and worry that they won't get the results that they want. Some people are more comfortable talking to other people who don't know them and can't judge them instead of talking to family or friends. I did get a pregnancy test done at the Health Department where I live and it came back negative but I think maybe I was given a pregnancy test too early and the results came back negative because of that ,because it will be 14 days on 9th of March and 21 days on the 16th of March which is when you are suppose to do a pregnancy test if you think you might be pregnant. People are afraid and need advice and someone to talk too and pregnancy can be a real touchy issue with some people.
Reply:because common sense is not a strong point in our society anymore. In the time they take to type it all here they could have been going to the store to buy the stupid test. I totally agree with you.

Reply:This is a pregnancy board, and doing the test is part of pregnancy. Some people are scared, and they want to know if they should buy a test because they're not sure if they have pregnancy sythoms or if its in their heads. It gets annoying, but if it bothers you, just don't answer those questions.
Reply:I'm guessing most of them are scared teenagers too afraid to go and buy a test.
