How long after a miscarriage will a home pregnancy test be accurate?

I was 7 weeks along when I had a miscarriage, everything was natural, no d%26amp;c. It has been about 5 weeks since the start of the miscarriage (it lasted about a week) I took 2 home pregnancy tests yesterday and they both came out positive, could this be because my hcg levels are still up from the miscarriage or is it more likely that I am pregnant?

you can test positive for up to 6 weeks. Seeing as your 5 weeks testing positive try testing again in 2-3 weeks there might be a possibility your pregnant. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. wish you well and hope you have a baby soon ill keep you in my prays. I know for a fact you can test positive for up to 6 weeks my first pregnancy i lost on Christmas eve 2005 i kept testing positive for weeks and the doctor told me you can test positive for 6 weeks.
Reply:Sounds like you're pregnant again. After a miscarriage the HCG drops dramatically.
Reply:Sorry to hear your sad news. The HCG level usually subsides within 2 weeks, so you could very well be pregnant! Have you had a period since the miscarriage? Here's some more information

Reply:Congratulations your pregnant!!!!! Your HCG levels would be back to normal (5 or below) by now. So if your getting a +HPT then you are pregnant. Make an appt with your OB right away and ask to be closely monitored and get bloodwork done to monitor your HCG levels for about a week to make sure they are going up like they should be.

Good luck, I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!
