Gonna get a blood test to make sure I am STD free. What should I test for?

I'm gonna request to be tested for Hepatitis A, B, %26amp; C, HIV, Herpes 1 %26amp; 2, syphilis, chlamydia, %26amp; gonherrea. Is that all I need? I don't think I have anything, but I want to be safe.

Herpes can be diagnosed with a blood test, but I have heard it is REALLY inaccurate. Usually herpes is diagnosed by an examination of the sores and test the fluid from the blisters.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea is a urine test and a swab test.

There is no test to detect HPV in men.

"Trich" (Trichomoniasis) is a swab of fluid from a males urethra or from a females vagina.

All the other ones you said are by a blood test. Good luck!

Check out this site for some information about STDs and testing for them:

Reply:Test for everything and if you come back clean...USE PROTECTION so you won't have this worry or STOP HAVING SEX
Reply:Regarding the Hep B test, didn't you get the series of 3 shots which were the Hep B vaccine? You should get that first before you get STD tested. Genital herpes can only be found if you in fact have a sore on or in your genitalia. so if you don't have any sores, it is pointless to get that test. Basically you should test for the chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphillis, and HIV. I think that HIV test may have to be done separatley, I'm not sure it depends on where you go. Herpes are found when they arise on the body, the hep b has a vaccine, and the hep a and c are very unlikely and usually arise if you get an infection while being HIV positive. so stick with those four, and you should be good. If you are this safe, then you should also be using condoms and/or birth control, or both.
Reply:That sounds good to me. Hope everything goes well
Reply:HPV.

just tell your dr. you want to be tested for all STDs.
Reply:When they test for STD's, that includes Hepatitis, Herpes, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea. If your testing for all that, then you should also get the HIV test and the TB test.
Reply:FYI: herpes is herpes, it does not matter what type it is (1/2). If you have herpes, you can break out either on genitalia or in/around mouth.
Reply:For chlamydia and gonoherrea you will need to be swabbed there is no accurate blood test for that.
