Ok so went to a general pract. and she gave me a pg test but i peed a lot maybe b.c i had two glasses of water

but it was very light, is that pg test accurate? it was negative by the way and it has been 3 months since sex?

Ok so went to a general pract. and she gave me a pg test but i peed a lot maybe b.c i had two glasses of water
Yes the test will still be acurate...you ARE NOT P.G.
Reply:It should be very accurate, as the test is looking for a pregnancy hormone that is excreted in your urine...If you haven't had sex in 3 months, the hormone would be strong by now, despite two glasses of water.
Reply:Should be accurate. Remember though when you do take a preg. test DO NOT drink alot of water beforehand it dilutes your urine and can sometimes make the test inaccurate.
Reply:yes it is accurate......but not impossible to be pg
Reply:no matter how much you drink and how much you pee it is not going to effect the amount of hcg in your body. if you was prego then it would have been post. i have never heard of a false neg. because someone had drank to much water and had peed to much.
Reply:U keep asking these questions. I know your stressed about it. But your not pregnant... you should look at it as a good thing unless you are trying... if you are then try again! Dont stress it. The test is right.
Reply:yes, the test is accurate
Reply:it is accurate
Reply:u r not prego thank your lucky strs and wear condoms
Reply:Sounds like you are not pregnant. If you still are unsure get a blood test to check for pregnancy they are 100% accurate only a few weeks after conception. Good luck

Anyone know some good ideas for memorizing the spanish language? on all my test i don't make over a "C".

honestly, spanish is all memorization

thats all any language is

take time and make some flashcards, make sure you know all the material

and you should ace it.

Anyone know some good ideas for memorizing the spanish language? on all my test i don't make over a "C".
The second answerer is right. You cannot memorize a language, you LEARN it. You HAVE to UNDERSTAND what you are saying, the grammar and syntax in your sentences, know proper spelling and whatnot. However important this may be, this is not everything.

Believe it or not it is easier to learn a language than you believe (if you could learn English, then so you can do Spanish, not to mention it is very simple and logical--its rules are foolproof). All you have to do is EXPOSE yourself to the language consistently, everyday! I would suggest you to literally IMMERSE yourself into the language. Listen to Spanish music, watch Spanish movies, always have a dictionary in hand, get an account on a Spanish forum, answer Spanish exercise books, read Spanish literature, find a Spanish penpal, even train yourself to THINK in Spanish, etc.... Just make this language a part of your everyday life and practice, practice, PRACTICE! I cannot stress this enough!

You don't have to kill yourself with rote memorization, that's not only inefficient but also ineffective. The language will simply come to you naturally the more you expose yourself to it.

Good luck!
Reply:you cant memorize a language. you have to learn it and study the rules and words. you can memorize words and their translations but you have to use them in order to learn them. if your doing simple translation tests try using flashcards and then writing sentences in spanish using the word. don't cram the night before a test, every night write the word in english and spanish then write a sentence with it. it will take you two seconds tops.

How long should i wait after exposure to hep c before getting tested?

It takes between 8-24 weeks for the antibodies to show up, so make sure you get tested within the first 6 months. Even if you have the antibodies, you'll then need a PCR test to see if you cleared the virus on your own, or if it has become chronic. Hopefully, you won't show the antibodies and won't need further testing. Best wishes.

How long should i wait after exposure to hep c before getting tested?
you should get tested right away but some viruses can stay in your body for years without being noticed.

In a multiple choice test, if I have no clue, should I choose A,B,C,D, or E?

dude listen to me. i once got a 100% one a test guessing at every answer...i swear this is true, it was a while back but the point is you can use the test to answer its question at least some of the time. you can use information in other questions to answer another one, just now i took a test where one question was like

what tale is this quote from "the swallow must bleed on the rose to make it red"

another question

In the happy prince how does the swallow make the rose red

and finally what type of bird does the happy prince befriend

i didnt even read the happy prince but i was able to get those all right, im sure even u could right now!!!!! of course these questions were spread out over 200 others but if your observant then u can take advantage

anyway try that

dont try all C look what happened to this idiot

In a multiple choice test, if I have no clue, should I choose A,B,C,D, or E?
If you really don't know, it depends on how OCD you are,

Do you like vowels or consonants?...

Vowels are good, not too many of them, prefer A personally!

Also if there are many questions you have absolutely no idea about, string a few letters of your OCD choice together, couple A's, maybe a few E's...

Although, to keep the balance, you should also throw in a few consonants, the letter C is always cool!

...
Reply:I'd say go with the first one that you thought was correct. Like if you read the question and thought, "Well it might be B, but I really don't know." I'd say pick B.

As a homeschooling mom I just can't stand tests that give students answers to pick. It is much better for the student to tell you what they do know and not what they don't know.
Reply:always B dude!! but dont just guess. take a look at the ques.
Reply:if you use C for every single answer its a guaranteed pass
Reply:A
Reply:First eliminate the dumb answers and go from there...
Reply:C!!
Reply:c
Reply:if in that situation you should try and cancel out the ones that cant be right because there are always stupid answers then have a guess and that way you have more chance of getting the right answer
Reply:eeny, meeny, miney, mo
Reply:what is the question?

choose either A, B, C, D, or E!!!!! You've got a 20% chance! yay you! *mumbling* he has no chance
Reply:some people would say C hands down, some might say you have an equal chance of getting it right no matter what you pick, but the truth is, there are ways to find the right answer more easily:

first, obvously you should eliminate the ones you know are wrong.

lets pretend you cant eliminate any. well, its still better to guess, because then theres still a chance you will get it right.

when you are guessing, look at the answers to the questions before and after it. for example, if youre stuck on 7, look at what the answers to 5, 6, 8, and 9 are. believe it or not, people follow patters whether they know it or not, and that goes for teachers making tests. after taking hundreds of multiple choice tests, here's my advice:

know the teacher - know if there are certain patterns they follow. do they like to go in order sometimes - like A,B,C or E,D,C, or skip, like A,C,E? do they repeat letters, like A,A,A,A? i find that the last example is the most common. usually teachers will pick the same letter answer many times in a row trying to fake out the students.

basically, always know what kinds of pattersn your teachers like to follow (usually they dont even know they are following them) and always look at the answers around them to try to find patterns. this is especially effective if you can eliminate answers first. also, never leave one blank on multiple choice.

either you lose the points because you dont answer it, or you take a chance at getting it right by guessing.

good luck!
Reply:If I were you, I would go with the letter I like best. I like the letter B. Maybe you could try that! Or, just go with your first choice.
Reply:First, eliminate the answers you know aren't correct. From there... choose the last one!
Reply:Try to avoid test where you have no clue about the questions. Maybe try studying.
Reply:Try your first instinct, sometimes it works :) But ofcourse the best thing is to study your lesson. Good luck
Reply:When making a wild guess, one must take into account the holistic balance of the test. That is, a well made test should have a fairly even balance of each response, A, B, C, D or E. So look at the last 10 or so questions and see if you can determine a pattern. If the balance seems heavy towards 'B', the answer is probably NOT B. Likewise, if you havent gotten a 'D' in a while, 'D' is probably a good guess.
Reply:I'm assuming you've already tried every other method of figuring out the answer (i.e. eliminating some choices, using clues from other test questions, looking at words like "always"/"every"/etc.) and still have no idea. I that case the best pick is "C". On multiple choice tests with choices A-E, C is used most often.
Reply:Always go with your gut, the answer that catches your eye first. Sometimes i look at an answer and second guess myself, then i get it wrong. It was the one I noticed first, lol. I think maybe we notice something for asplit second, but do not remember why we do, but our brains remember it somewhere up there, and maybe the anxiety of the test jsut blocks it, lol.

Anyway, I have always heard the average is C for 4 answers. But first eliminate the ones that you know for sure are not. Skip it if you still do not know and go on the next wuestions, sometimes you can find the answers from the other questions, hehehe.
Reply:do the eeny meeny miney moo thing
Reply:I pick C always.

I took a pregnancy test and I had a faint line VERY faint.. Could this indicate a problem b/c the HCG levels..

are low or am I too early that's why it's light? (2 days before my missed period).. it's faint but a baby pink and you can see it.

I took a pregnancy test and I had a faint line VERY faint.. Could this indicate a problem b/c the HCG levels..
When I took my test 2 weeks after my missed period I still had a faint line. It doesn't mean anything other then the test sucks. But your pregnant congrats
Reply:It means you are very early. This happened with my first pregnancy, I took another two days later and the line was darker. In all I took 6 tests, each time the line got darker until it was a dark as the control line. The only time to be concerned would be if the line got lighter, which happened to my friend who miscarried a few days later.
Reply:with all 3 of my pregnancies, i have tested positive before my missed period and all 3 were super faint lines. your levels should double every 2-3 days so even if it's faint now, you are probably fine. You just tested before the levels got really high is all. Go see a doc and congrats on the baby!!
Reply:its early thats why the line is faint dont worry yourself. and yes you hcg levels are low b/c its early they will build up.
Reply:HPT tests don't indicate problems, only that you are pregnant or not!!!
Reply:just take another

same thing happened to my sister and she is now 15 weeks.

sometimes its just the test
Reply:It means you ARE pregnant congratulations ; )
Reply:wait and re-test, or talk to your doctor about a blood test
Reply:If there is a line, no matter how faint, you are mostly likely pregnant.

Congratulations and good luck!!!
Reply:I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter how faint a line is. If it is there, it is there. I thought I read something somewhere that said don't rely on something like that. If it is there, you are definitely pregnant. But who knows? Just go take a blood test and stop wasting money on multiple home tests. I swear that would be a good stock to buy though, wouldn't it?
Reply:Congrats! A very faint line is a positive! 2 days before your missed period I would not think it would be very dark. If you are really concerned, wait a week and retest using 1st morning urine.... The line will be much darker as the HCG levels shoot up!

Very Best Wishes!
Reply:You are probably just a touch early. Give it two or three days and take another test. You should notice a difference in the timing and darkness of the test.

Good luck

Is it possible for a blood test to be inaccurate?

I went to the doc in September about 2/3 weeks after I wouldve gotten pregnant and had a blood test done, it came back negative...but in Oct/Nov...my period was only 3 days and not very heavy and its normally 5 days for me...so, now its nearly Dec and i would be 10 weeks this week if i am pregnant...i have nausea, but its the FATIGUE that is killing me, i cant really function...could they have missed it? Could my levels had been too low at the time of the test? Could i possibly be pregnant??? Im confused!! Oh and I started BC pills in Oct and around the end of Oct and early Nov, they started making my period come RANDOMLY!! Seriously, so I quit taking them b/c i aint know what is going on! So, anyone wit a similar story, let me kno, im curious to know if i could be pregnant...i wont test till my period is missed for Dec, IF it is missed, if not, i wont worry about it. Oh and this strange inkling for a pickle and some Cookies%26amp;Cream ice cream, too...really dunno.

Is it possible for a blood test to be inaccurate?
Here is the thing girlfriend,

sometimes the hormone that is elevated in our bloodstream when we are pregnant is called beta HCG. But sometimes the levels are too low to detect on a blood test, at the time we are starting to feel weird, fatigue, and having cravings especially if we were having some of these feeling when we were PMSing.

Some suggestion would be is to go back and get another pregnancy test, and another, until you get a regular period. Make note of the bata HCG count, if the number is increasing from 0 with each test you are pregnant, if it decrease with each one two things may have happened you are pregnant, and now you are loosing it. HOPE NOT.

Either way you have an answer and you can doing something, and quickly. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:My doctor once told me that a positive is always right...in other words if the test comes out positive then you're pregnant and there's no need to retake the test because the answer wont change, it will always be positive. However, a negative is not always negative. Your harmone levels could be low enough that the test won't pick up on it. I stopped taking my birthcontrol and now get random periods when I was always regular (even without the pills). Stress causes me to be late too. And I always have cravings right before I get my period for chocolate and other sweets, so you may just be off because you stopped your birthcontrol. Hope this helped. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Get another test done. I was always tired very tired when I was in the first three months of pregnancy's.
Reply:I had a blood test done when my period was late and it came back borderline. Then 2 days later I had another one and it was positive. If you are worried get another one done. Also... I crave pickles and bananas together. One in each hand, one bite of one, one bite of the other, then back to the first. YUMMY!!!!!!!
Reply:You and me are in a much similar boat. except i didnt start takin my pills again and im not really craving anything. just super tired all the time. I havent had a period since Aug and when i went and got a blood test in september they said it was neg. So i believe they can be wrong.
Reply:Try again maybe your pregnant or you have pregnancy hysteria which is you show signs of pregnancy but its all in your head.
Reply:Yes it is possible to have a inaccurate blood test but the percentage of that happening is rare
Reply:Definitely get retested. If it comes back negative again, you might have some other medical condition. Call that doc up!
Reply:All blood tests can be inaccurate.

There is a big thing about lab errors all over the country.

What is testing anxiety and is it treatable?c?

When taking exams I get very nervous and my mind goes blank. I am very knowledgeable of the material but have this to occur during test times. I can't seem to get information from my brain onto paper. I excel in class. It's very frustrating to know the info but fall apart during test time.

What is testing anxiety and is it treatable?c?
Test anxiety is a psychological condition in which a person experiences distress before, during, or after an exam or other assessment to such an extent that this anxiety causes poor performance or interferes with normal learning.

Physical — headaches, nausea or diarrhea, extreme body temperature changes, excessive sweating, shortness or breath, light-headedness or fainting, rapid heart beat, and/or dry mouth.

Emotional — excessive feelings of fear, disappointment, anger, depression, uncontrollable crying or laughing, feelings of helplessness

Behavioral — fidgeting, pacing, substance abuse, avoidance

Cognitive — racing thoughts, 'going blank', difficulty concentrating, negative self-talk, feelings of dread, comparing yourself to others, difficulty organizing your thoughts.

Test anxiety can develop for a number of reasons. There may be some prior negative experience with test taking that serves as the activating event. Students who have experienced, or have a fear of, blanking out on tests or the inability to perform in testing situations can develop anticipatory anxiety. Worrying about how anxiety will effect you can be as debilitating as the anxiety itself. This kind of anxiety can build as the testing situation approaches, and can interfere with the student's ability to prepare adequately. Lack of preparation is another factor that can contribute to test anxiety. Poor time management, poor study habits, and lack of organization can lead to a student feeling overwhelmed. Student's who are forced to cram at the last minute will feel less confident about the material covered than those who have been able to follow a structured plan for studying. Being able to anticipate what the exam will cover, and knowing all the information has been covered during the study sessions, can help students to enter the testing situation with a more positive attitude. Text anxiety can also develop genetically.

Lack of confidence, fear of failure, and other negative thought processes may also contribute to test anxiety. The pressure to perform well on exams is a great motivator unless it is so extreme that it becomes irrational. Perfectionism and feelings of unworthiness provide unreasonable goals to achieve through testing situations. When a student's self-esteem is too closely tied to the outcome of any one academic task, the results can be devastating. In these situations, students may spend more time focusing on the negative consequences of failure, than preparing to succeed.

Test anxiety prevents students from demonstrating their knowledge on examinations. To be covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, test anxiety must pass two legal tests. First, it must be a "mental impairment." As a form of Social Phobia, a mental disorder included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, it meets this first test. Second, it must "substantially limit one or more of the major life activities." Individuals for whom test anxiety is one manifestation of Social Phobia-Generalized are substantially limited in the major life activities of interacting with others and working. Individuals for whom test anxiety is the only manifestation of their Social Phobia are substantially limited in the major life activities of thinking and working, the latter because they are excluded from any career requiring a test for application, credentialing, licensure, or training. Accommodations may include taking the test in a separate room or taking an untimed examination. Documentation supporting a diagnosis of test anxiety should include evidence of significant impairment in test performance.

************To overcome the tension, you must first understand your anxiety, in terms of its type, causes, symptoms, and effects. Then you can choose the best coping mechanisms for your particular situation.
Reply:I have been using this alternative therapy call Emotional Freedom Technique on my anxiety depression which has helped me a lot. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound crazy but does work. It might be something that can help you. If you type anxiety in to the search engine of emofree.com you should find some articles about EFT helping people suffer from anxiety. Also try some of the techniques in the third link.
Reply:Sorry you are suffering with this problem. Here's how I got over my testing anxiety. Use of calming herbs, having studied the materiel listed in the class outcomes description rather than everything in all the reading assignments, knowing that if I don't pass and irrelevant questions now in class outcomes were the majority of the questions I have the right to challenge the validity of the test. Asking the teacher before the term is too far along if he or she ask questions on tests that are not part of subject materiel relating to the class outcomes description. This alerts them to my being a student who is focusing on what the course is supposed to be and first gives a good impression of me and second lets them know I am on top things and will know if irrelevant or teacher personal agenda materiel is injected into the class. Having done this my confidence is right up there and along with the calming herbs that don't put me to sleep, I do OK. Hope this helps.

Have you heard that people living with Hep C and has had treatment may have organ failure?

Did you hear this that it can affect the organs? That the person will be weaker due to the interferon and the harshness of the treatment. Is it the treatment that is harsh or the Hep C itself. And is it ever really cured if it doesnt show on the blood test?

Have you heard that people living with Hep C and has had treatment may have organ failure?
No, I haven't heard this...I've been through treatment and I am fine. Healthy and no sign of HCV. The horror stories you hear on the web are just that.

Don't get me wrong here I am not discounting people who had to stop treatment, some people's genetic makeup make them very sensitive to the treatment...but interferon is nothing different than what your body is already used to making on its own. It's basically an oversupply of interferon added to the body to overpower the speedy replication of Hep C. If anything, its usually the Ribivirin that tends to make people "sicker".

I would be interested to hear some stories of folks who had any kind of organ failure, but I would think that it is usually due to late stage HCV.

The newer Pegylated Interferon can cause kidney problems since the plastic molecules added to the interferon can clog up the system. It can also invoke hyperthyroidism since extra Interferon overtaxes the balance of your metabolism.

You also need to realize that many of those "bad treatment" stories you hear are from pre-pegylated interferon days - Prior to 2003, you had to take Interferon every 1-2 days a week so it really was harsh, back then. Now you take it once a week.

If you are obese or already unhealthy from some other disease then I recommend to others that they do not start treatment until they fix those issues first.
Reply:My dad has HepC and hasn;t started treatment. he is stage one and gets to choose to wait for treatment or start the interferon now. So, I don't think it affects anything else and if it does it's apparently not that important...
Reply:Hep C affects the liver and typically require liver transplant regardless of the interferon. My father was on the interferon and it made him extremely sick. He still needed the liver transplant.
Reply:My sister had Hep C - her enzymes remained very low for years and years(10 years) until about 5 years ago when they started to become elevated. She chose to have a new dual treatment of Interon and Riberveron (sp?) She has been Hep C negative for three years now. Now signs and liver biopsies are normal and enzymes are normal.

The doctors all said the reason she has done so well and was able to go years without major problems or treatment was because she was very active (Ballet Dancer for 25 years) and has always been on an organic diet (not vegetarian) but stayed away from foods with pesticides, meat without antibiotics etc.....

Remember there are also more than one strain of Hep C. So it just depends from person to person, the way they got it and which strain of Hep C they have.
Reply:It probably not the treatment. It could be the Hep c it's self know body knows if it affects other organs as Hep c its self has only had a name for about 20 years or so before that it was known as non a non b Hepatitis so the doctors don't know that much about it

Hope that helps

If I want to get my m1 permit but i have my class c drivers permit do i have to take the written test again.?

Yes you do, for a motorcycle permit there is a separate book to study and test because most people do not have an interest in motorcycles when they are applying for their drivers license. Pick up your book, study for the test, pass the written test or computer test and then apply for a safety training course. The safety course will help you learn the skills required to pass the riders test and in some states issue the temporary license once the course has been completed and passed. The course will also lower your insurance costs.

If I want to get my m1 permit but i have my class c drivers permit do i have to take the written test again.?
Yes buddy sorry to say. It covers the info in the manual to ensure you know what your driving and to reduce accidents
Reply:Yes you have to take a written test for each type of license.

Some states do not rquire written tests for add on's to exisiting licenses.
Reply:yes, this written test will cover the dmv motorcycle manual.

Whenever i take a test i study so hard but i always seem to get a C. what are some good study habits. thanks?

what should i do to prepare and get a A or B on the test

Whenever i take a test i study so hard but i always seem to get a C. what are some good study habits. thanks?
Try to absorb the information using several techniques. Most people learn by seeing information, hearing information, writing information and then discussing information. Come up with ways to study using all 4 ways (or as many as you can) and you should improve.
Reply:Talk to your teacher before each test about what important topics you should be sure to know. They won't always give you specifics, but anything at all they tell you in response should help. A good teacher wants their students to do well and will appreciate the fact that you care enough to ask questions. It is important to understand what information the test is covering so you don't waste your time studying something you won't need to know.

Also, be sure to spread out your study time. Even if you study a lot, if you only study the night before a test you will probably not do as well as you would like. This is called "cramming" and if you do this you won't retain any information for very long (meaning that you will forget it shortly). Begin studying about a week before the test, even if you only study a little each day.

Everybody has different ways they prefer to study. Try some things out and see what works for you.Think about whether you focus better in a quiet place or with some background noise. Do you study better in the afternoon or late at night? Do you need a comfy chair to study in or do you focus more in a straight-backed chair at a desk? Find a study space that works for you and use it. A good study environment is key!
Reply:What i usually do is read over all my notes and write them out again. But if none of the ways to study help you don't work... you may suffer from Test anxiety.
Reply:make sure your study time is quality. if you have any distractions you will not obtain the info as well.

also, be sure to take BREAKS! a good half hour will do a mind and body good (if you're trying to prepare for a test).

just make sure when the info is first introduced, you understand it the first time around--this doesn't mean memorize it! just be introduced to it and get familiar with it. as the test approaches, then start to prepare for test-specific studying.
Reply:The thing that helps me is I sort of make it into a fun little game. i ask someone to Quiz me as if they were a host of a game show. The prize is usually a break from studying or some sort of food. This helps me alot.
Reply:You can never study too much you should talk to the teacher and ask him/her to give the class a more accurate study guide get information about from diffrent places like the web, books etc.Just study in advance...Good Luck...SMILE...U can do it!!!
Reply:heres a great technique

Buy a planner and write down all your things (tests homework)Update it every day and each day study a little for the test. This should help,it helped me.

Breastfeeding for2 months and pregnacy test says positive can this happen?

my daughters son is 2 mths. old and she had an emergancy c cection. the found two large masses. could have been from a previse misscarage doct. said and she took a pregnacey test today and it showed positive. and it took them 7 yrs to get pg. in all.and i hope it safe if she is.

Breastfeeding for2 months and pregnacy test says positive can this happen?
She could be pregnant. But it even says on the pregnancy test that if a person just had a baby then she could still have that hormone, and could havea false positive. She should see a doctor as soon as possible. Good Luck!
Reply:Yes, you can get pregnant. my 2 brothers are only 10 months apart.
Reply:it is a myth that you cant get pregnant while you are breast feeding......it is a myth. I would suggest doing another test and if that one shows positive....then you need to go ahead and head to the Dr......you may have another baby on the way. They should have gone on and put you back on on some form of BC.

So pass on the info that you CAN get pregnant while breast feeding.
Reply:I have cousins who are 10 months apart so I would imagine that, unless you are on a contraceptive, you may be pregnant. I must add that they are both healthy girls and you should not worry if that is the case- just a little tiring to have children so close together. Having said that I think you should not take the pregnancy test as the absolute last word on the subject. Get her doctor to test.
Reply:Absolutely you can get pregnant while breastfeeding. Over the counter pregnancy tests are pretty accurate. At this point she should just go to her ob/gyn to assess her ability to carry to term.
Reply:yes, possible, yes safe. Haven't you ever heard of Irish twins, siblings who are not even a year apart.

How do i open a compiled c program?

I am using MPLAB IDE and the MPLAB C18 compiler. i'm trying to learn how to program in c, so i need to compile and test codes. But i dont know how to open the hex file that it was compiled into. can you help me figure out how to open this? thanks.

How do i open a compiled c program?
The MPLAB C18 compiler creates a hex file that you can load into a microcontroller. In your code, you would have specified what 'model' it is (ie. 18F452, 16F677 etc). The hex file is only compatible with that specific model.

To load the file into the microcontroller, you use a device called In-Circuit Debugger (ICD) or In-circuit Serial Programmer (ICSP). You may purchase these devices from Microchip.

For testing, you can download PIC Simulators and 'emulate' a PIC microcontroller on your PC.
Reply:You'll need a hex editor to view the binary as hex. Here is a complete list from Wikipedia.

Hi. Can any time served electricians help me understand how to test earth fault loop impedance (Zs) please?

I have completed Part P and C%26amp;G 2381 as I have to notify alterations to existing circuits when I install boilers to fuse spurs etc. I understand Zs=Ze + (r1+r2) and Zs can be calculated. Best practice tells me to measure Zs to add to my Minor Works. I would like to know how to measure Zs, I know it is done live but unsure where I place my test probes from my Megger 1552, is it two leads or three? If anyone can give me honest advice I would really appreciate it. I think I connect one lead to the MET earth and the other lead to the supply side of the main switch, with the switch in the off 'open' position. Any help really appreciated, ie a link to a site, or pictures please. Thankyou.

Hi. Can any time served electricians help me understand how to test earth fault loop impedance (Zs) please?
Zs is at the accessory, Ze is at the CU, on the load side, with ALL CIRCUITS TURNED OFF, and bonding disconnected.

It's a three-lead test.

For Zs Double up N%26amp;CPC probes on the earth if no neutral is present at the accessory.

Honest advice is:

If you really don't know how to test then you shouldn't be doing it.

Reply:For Zs you have to test from the furthest socket outlet, or light fitting on that circuit. The test is done using phase and earth.

The on site guide and guidence note 3 give you further info on how to do this.

From what you discribe, you want to know what the Ze is. This is done from the consumer unit, and again, consult the on site guide or guidence note 3

I am 17 years of age and am moving to B.C. Can anyone tell me what is involved in passing the driving test?

Where on earth is B.C. ?????????

To pass a British Columbia (sheeh are Americans stupid) test you will have to pass a vision, sign recognition, knowledge, and road test.

The Insurance Company of British Columbia website has everything you need to know about getting a licence or registering/insuring your car.
Reply:What?Back in time? Before Christ,is your first vehicle the Tardis?
Reply:Sorry, but I don't know where B.C. is. I assume noone else does either and that's why you've no answers.

What are three foods that would test positive for: simple sugars, starch, and protein?

this is off my bio 111, lab study guide.

list three foods that would test positive for:

a) simple sugars

b)starch

c)protein

What are three foods that would test positive for: simple sugars, starch, and protein?
Simple sugars--pick any junk food, also most fruits

Starch--potatoes, corn, whole grain breads, other starchy vegetables

protein--dairy, eggs, nuts, and meat products

On a 90 chev lumina sedan with a 3.1 when the a/c is on should both radiator fans be running?

I have been having a overheating problem. It only happens now and then. The car dumps collant threw the over flow tank.

The reason I am asking about the radiator fans is to try to elimanate the problem threw testing and not just changing parts.

I NEVER hear the fan or fans running. when I turn on the a/c only one comes on. I think they both are to be running but I'm not sure.

Any ideas??

Thanks

you are right, both fans should be on when you kick on the AC and only one when the AC is off.
Reply:the fans should come on to lower the pressure in the a/c system. I work on big trucks and when the a/c gets turned on the pressure gets to about 300 350 then the fan comes on to get that pressure down before the lines blow. dunno if that helped but yes the fans should come on and off as the pressure rises and falls
Reply:its the relay i kow it becuz i have the same car but its a 96
Reply:Actually on the lumina, chevrolet designed the fans with seperate circuits. The driveside fan only comes on when the engine temp reaches a certain degree.

The passenger side fan is for the A/C and only comes on when the a/c is requested, does not run off of pressure switch like most.

If your having a problem with the car overheating and your engine fan isn't running, then I would check the temp sensor

(this is seperate from the temp sending unit which controls you gage on the dash.) for the computer, the cooling fan relay, and lastly the fan itself.

Hope this helps!
Reply:This is something you wont to take care of ASAP. overheating of this engine can blow head gaskets, warp the heads and cause the intake manifold to leak. Have your cooling system pressure checked. A bad radiator cap will let the system loose pressure and overheat. A bad thermostat can also cause overheating. Start the engine and turn on the A/C, open the doors and run the A/C on max. Block the front of the car with a large towel or something to restrict the air.. When the top hose starts getting hot one of the fans will come on, when the hose is to hot ti touch the other fan should come on. Watch the temp. don't over heat the engine. If the second fan doesn't come on, it is most likely the thermostatically control switch on the engine block that is bad or the fan motor. Also make sure the condenser coil is not restricted with bug and dirt, it's in front of the radiator and can be washed out with a water hose.
Reply:The cars that I've seen that have two fans have one that turns on when the car is hot, and one that turns on when the a/c is on. Also, sometimes when the car is very hot it can turn both of them on.

Don't know on you car inparticular though.
Reply:Both fans should be on when the AC is engaged. Check the electrical connections with a DVOM to see if you have power to both fan motors when AC is turned on. If so, then check the fan motor itself. If the motor has gone south it is a very simple replacement.
Reply:I have only had this happen once in over 60 years of driving and looking after my own cars. I was having the engine running hotter than normal and while looking at the operation of the cooling fan motor I noticed it seemed to be running slower than usual, I looked at my other car and found that the fan was running normal and the 1st car had a motor that was running but slower. Didn't think this was possible so I installed a new fan motor anyway, that was the answer.

thank you cards

I was just told by my md that I have hep c he is doing a blood test that takes three days to come back?

I was told 15 years ago that I was exposed to hep c but I was never effected by it however in the past year I have been under alot of stress and just one month ago I was revived by 911 because I had taken wrong medication. Needless to say my body has gone through hell and back but about 5 days ago my eyes started becoming yellow, muscle aches all over, urine is dark and my bowels are almost white. I am wondering if this is the virus now waking up or am I going to need treatment, I have read alot about this and many people go through what I am experiencing but it goes away in a couple of weeks ???? I am planning on seeing a specialist but to tell you the truth I am scared that I am not going to get out of this as soon as others???also what is the difference between being exposed to the virus and having it can it become a virus?

I was just told by my md that I have hep c he is doing a blood test that takes three days to come back?
First of all, 15 years ago they didn't know much about hcv, so more than likely you've been chronic active all this time (it happened to me as well).

Exposure to hcv will in 85% of the time become a chronic infection. The remainder 15% of those who have been exposed somehow resolve on their own.

It used to be an old thinking that if the alt and ast levels were normal, you were simply a carrier. Now days they know that is not the case because alt and ast flucuate, remain normal or the alt and ast levels are chronic- but- now they know that alt and ast really isn't something they can rely on.

Your doctor is probably doing a pcr test. It will show if the virus is active or not. Chances are it is, but I am no doctor.

So, if it is active, the best thing you can do is treat. The early the hcv infection is treated, the more chance you can have a sustained viralogic response (cure if it is past one year after treatment). This is regardless of genotype.

Now, you could have a delayed reaction to the medication and the damage it has caused. Or it could be that you've had chronic hcv and the medication you were on made the virus much worse. (some medications can cause faster liver damage in those with hcv)

As with any virus, a virus can reactivate. 15 years ago your infection might of been too recent for correct test results.

There are many things that can play a role, but I bet they simply thought you were a carrier when all this time you've been active.

I wish that wasn't the case, so I'm praying it was just bad medicine!!!! I wont ask what it was for, but I can almost bet the medication you took was for a side effect of HCV itself. (just guessing, could be wrong) but there are over 150 bi-directional diseases that stem from having hcv.

1. Biologists want to set up a station to test alligators in the lake for the West Nile Virus. Suppose that?

the costs for such a station are $ 2,500 for setup costs and $3.00 to administer each test.

a. Write and expression that gives the total cost to test x animals.

b. You can find the average cost per animal by dividing total costs by number of animals. Write the expression that gives the average cost per animal.

c. Find the average cost per animal for 10 animals. 100animals, 1,000 animals.

d. As the number of animals tested increase, what happens to the average cost to test the animals? Would the average cost ever fall below $3.00? If so, identify a value that supports you answer. If not explain how you know

e. How many animals should be tested for the average cost to be $5.00 per animal?

1. Biologists want to set up a station to test alligators in the lake for the West Nile Virus. Suppose that?
a) C=2500+3x

b)Avg. cost = 2500/x+3

c)253,18,5.5

d) as can be seen in part c) the cost is going down as the number of animals increases.

But it will never go below $3 because in the equation in b) the constant parameter is +3 so whatever may be the variable componenet 2500/x, 3 would always be added to it

e) avg cost= 5

5=2500/x+3

5-3=2500/x

2=2500/x

x=2500/2=1250

so when 1250 animals are tested the avg cost becomes $5

In order to test a hypothesis, you must?

the chooses are

a.write a laboratory report

b.conduct an experiment testing one variable at a time

c.conduct an experiment testing many variable at he same time

d.report the results
