Most places do when they first hire someone, but then not again until that person has an accident, unless you have direct control over other peoples welfare (such as a school bus driver). These people do have random checks. But a clerk at JC Penny's probably will not be randomly tested.

i am on Vic C n cod liver oil tablets twice daily, will dat affect e test results? are those consider drugs?

As you may already know, an iodine and starch solution is an aqueous solution with a dark violet/black color. But when you add vitamin C to the solution, what happens? Can you provide a lengthy explanation for me? Tomorrow, I'm doing an experiment which tests the levels of vitamin C in different substances, but all I need to know for now is what will happen.
What happens when Vitamin C is added to an iodine and starch solution?
Vitamin C. reacts with iodine:
C6H8O6 + I2 ==%26gt; C6H6O6 + 2H+ + 2 I-
So you can use titration with iodine to find out the concentration of vitamin C. Since the reaction ratio is 1:1, moles vitamin = moles I2 at the endpoint, so concentrations (M) x volumes are also equal. The reasoning is a bit like in acid-base titrations, which you might have met.
The suspended starch forms a dark blue loosely held complex (almost a solid state solution) with I2, so long as there is any, so it acts as an indicator.

Had d&c 3w 2d ago, had period, have positive test today?
3weeks 2days ago I had a d%26amp;c for a miscarriage. I was 7-8wks along. 9 days ago I started spotting (2wks after d%26amp;c). I bled for 8 days it did get heavy like a period. I thought after a few weeks, especially since I had a period, my hcg would be back to zero. My doc says to wait another week then test. Does anyone know if my hcg could still be up if I had a period? I had sex with my husband 1wk 5dys ago after all my bleeding had stopped. I am confused. Thanks.

I am sorry to say this, but that more than likely was not your period. I have had 3 miscarriages and 1 stillbirth. My RE explained to me that it does not count as your period unless it has been at least 21 days since the last day of bleeding. After a m/c it normally takes 4-6 for your levels to drop to zero and to get your period again. I am sorry for what you have been going through. You also might want to ask your Dr. to do a quantitative blood test(2 days apart) to make sure that your levels are going down and that you are not getting an infection.
Reply:Sounds like you are pregnant, once a D%26amp;C is preformed all of the tissue is taken out of your body and there is no trace of pregnancy left also you had the time period before the d%26amp;c after the miscarriage where the pregnancy hormones where leaving your body, so its pretty certain all the hcg has left your body expecially since you havd a perood. But then again you never know the body work in misterious ways... your best bet is to folllow what the doc says an re test in a week. Good luck and i hope your next pregnancy is all smooooth sailing!
Reply:I remember reading that the HCG levels could stay elevated for up to eight weeks after a miscarriage/birth of a child.

Reply:I wouldnt think that the levels would still be high from that pregnancy, as the hormones die along with the baby...this is why they fall when a baby doesnt survive. i think that you are pregnant. And congrats if you are, I am really happy for you and my thoughts and prayers are w/ u n fam.

get the test now and again every three months. i have type "c" and it is no fun to live with. be care full and get tested often. contray to what some people are telling you Hep"c" is a blood borne pathogen and there is no vaccine for it. you can get Jaundices(yellow skin) with type B or type A also. that is more common. once you have type "C" it is there for life.

Reply:I had hepatitus C years ago. I suspect it was from the dentist. That was the period of time before they had to wear gloves. All of a sudden I got so violently ill I didn't know what was wrong. Thought it was the flu. After about 5 days my skin began turning yellow. I then went to the doctor and found out it was heatitus C but there was nothing they could treat it with at that time. I just got better on my own after awhile. My whole family had to have gamma globulin shots though to prevent them catching it. They never did catch it thank heavens.
Reply:If you suspect your infected, do not wait. The treatment started now will be more beneficial to you , and save you alot of heartache later.
Reply:Don't wait ! I have Hep C and underwent the drug theapy and it is now in remission. If you do test positive see a doctor immediately%26gt; The sooner you start treatment the less damage it will do.
