no there is always a 1-4 chance of the letter being correct, there is no patterns, teachers and test makers arent stupid.
Is it true that most answers are the letter "C" on a multiple choice test?
Well, I've heard from a few of my teachers then when you have absolutely no idea what the answer is, your best bet is with the letter "C" because the distributors of the test want to try to get you to read all the answers.
Reply:Don´t bank on this. Try to work out the rough answer in your head and see which answer most nearly fits. Don´t try to guess as normally a point is deducted for each incorrect answer and you only have a 20% chance of guessing correctly.
Reply:Not most overall. On questions which range from A - E there is a higher proportion a Cs than As Bs Ds and Es. But now they're aware of it, they'll change it. Plus, it was never a great difference anyway.
Reply:that is what i was taught in a psych class about 30 years ago.
it is because this is the pattern that people not trained in test-writing tend to follow.
don't expect for this to be the pattern on something like SATs.
Reply:Nope.
My teacher even told us, that it is an old saying.
He said that definalty his test arent like that.
Reply:Psychologically, yeah. That tends to be the letter chosen most often.
Reply:no, c isnt always the most common answer of a multiple choice test... on the 20th century it was B
Reply:nope. percentage of each choice being correct is the same
Reply:I doubt it.
That means you have to actually study for the test, doesn't it?
Reply:20 years ago they said it was B
Reply:I pick A. :-) Oh..this isn't a test.
Reply:nope my last test (science) was this morning and they were almost all "D"
Reply:thats what they say, but well really it could be anything.
